How does he plan to "expand to capacity" of the 612 units in the facility to accommodate his promised 30,000 beds? My hunch - he doesn't. If he is following the path he appears to be, my hunch is that he does not expect the people detained there to need beds earth-side for long.

I was 13 years old when Clinton took office, and I am now in my 40s. I suspect most people below retirement age would struggle to remember a lot of details from 1993.

Yes. I've been thinking the same about trade deals. Any country that exports anything that competes with USA exports should (and probably is) making sure they can increase output and promoting their goods to USAs trading partners.

Or report ALF. Maybe that's where Trump got the idea that migrants were eating cats 🤨

The systems broadly. Having money insulates you, that's why so many rich people believe they are invincible and do dumb things like climb into tin cans to go visit the Titanic.

Governments will not look after the working class. They will look after their own wealth. The people need to create change. Start by abolishing the two party system.

The Dems get to walk in and reverse a few of the most brutal changes and look like the good guys while keeping some of the changes that most benefit the billionaire class.

Congress won't act because this benefits them. Trump makes the big, unpopular changes to legislation. If it's bad enough for enough people, he will guarantee Democrats win at least the next term or two.

Everyone needs to. This is going to be really bad.

I don't think people ever have zero power, but the longer this goes on, the less power they will have.

I bought a packet of steak recently that had a sensor on it. I would rather buy that steak for someone than see anti theft devices on food.

I wish not every article about the WHO had sad African children as the stock pic. As gorgeous as he is, the WHO makes policy about many issues. Next time, maybe we can have an obese person having dietetic education or something.

There are, but by the time people are going to medications, most have tried those other strategies.

That's what should happen IMO.

Obviously if there is a shortage it should go to people who need it most urgently, such as those with diabetes.
comment in response to

I don't think that treating obesity is about vanity, for a lot of people it's about trying to avoid problems like diabetes, minimise sleep apnoea etc.
