As shows with nothing left to say are wont to do, they started talking about their lives a lot rather than set out to achieve particular goals. It’s a thing that feels meaningful to creators who love their characters but gets tedious to us who are giving them our time. Still some great sequences tho

This is true. You can keep one in your pants pocket all day. If anyone asks you can say it’s your second pop tart and they will understand

Previews are largely monotonous now. Occasional interesting form notwithstanding, they're all the same rhythm, sound, pace, etc, and they bore the hell out of me. Time was I would log on to apple dot come slash movies and just watch previews for fun

I literally show up 25 minutes late, which gives me terrible anxiety, and yet there are still ads playing. (Cinemark)

Yes. When I ask my students to summarize it’s not to get the information. It’s to learn how to process.

Thank you for noticing this. Why is this happening? Please make it stop. I was watching AP Bio for a while but literally everything from the costumes to the sets was that color and I couldn't take it any longer

Other drivers make reckless choices. Unfortunately I am on the road with them, so I respond by making choices that increase my own safety

Do you feel safe when you're in the left lane and everyone is speeding up to you, tailgating to see if you'll move over, and then changing lanes to pass you on the right, and then changing again back in front of you, over and over? Sometimes very close because they're assholes? I personally do not

Sure, but ultimately the rules of the road are whatever is actually enforced. So if the left lane is functionally just for going faster, and that's what most drivers understand to be true, then the safe thing to do is follow what's happening and take your speed limit driving ass to the middle lane

not to get serious on main, but... i also support driving the speed limit however i worry that you're driving in the left lane in a way that is not expected and counter to the, uh, flow, might, well, be, um... making the road less safe. thank you and i apologize

I don't get shocked at them risking other people's lives; I do get shocked at their willingness to risk their *own* lives.

I was an early listener back in the beginning, in the sherries berries glory days, "oh jeezus" and all that. Now I just listen to fantasy audiobooks

I just feel like the existence of every 90s movie should have made it clear that slicked back hair means you're a bad guy. How is this still happening

...apple watches that collect data on our movement and vital functions, and people who are constantly recording everything on their phones out in the open, often to catch content that can go viral. Of course people are gonna buy the thing that feeds everything they do to the data machine!

I wish I could have any confidence that we're not heading for ubiquitous personal recording-AI devices. We're already halfway there with doorbell cams and house cameras (which I myself have!), phones that are already recording everything anyway (like why did I just get that ad, is it listening?)...

was telling my 12th graders how we've known since the mid 1800s that carbon dioxide traps heat and one of the savvier ones looked across the room and said, if i may quote her directly, "and they ain't done nothin bout it since."
yeah, the kids are mad
