Simply brilliant Glenn, visionary stuff. You could never be accused of navel gazing. Nor of being unacquainted with the facts of the matter.

That may be true, but it doesn't look very likely. The USA is a failed state for a generation to come. At best.

They will not be cowed. They will not back down. Labour and Labor will do everything they can to lose whatever virtues they possessed -- and their next elections.

Who cares?

Haha. Glenn, how you’ve changed your tune. Only a few weeks ago the problem was disaffected MAGA people justifiably “walking away from” Democrats who hadn’t managed to solve all America’s problems. Now the penny is dropping?

About time you starting thinking this issue through, although you’ve barely scratched the surface. You fail to mention: countless millions of everyday citizens & churchgoers, voting for the Nazi Party, because “we don’t think Albo/Pelosi/P.M. XYZ is doing a good enough job, and prices are too high”.

What a lot of twaddle Glenn. Albanese if far too accommodating to big vested interests I agree, but he’s been wedged there by the power of money and media in Australia. To say “he’s worse than Dutton” and criticise a brave politician like Pelosi, shows again: you are wet behind the ears.

Once again, Glenn trots out his feeble argument that the failings of progressive politicians & parties (“the navel gazing left”) are a cause of citizens voting for lying, ignorant, criminal, self-enriching MAGA types. In the 1930’s Glenn would have been waffling similarly about Il Duce & the Fuhrer.

Glenn, you seem to be devoting a lot of attention in your posts to the corruption and duplicity of the new US government. Makes you wonder why you were previously silly enough to defend the MAGA rabble who voted for Trump.

That is your explanation? You get your information down the pub, dont you Lucas? Sky After Dark watcher?
comment in response to post
Lucas knows a lot about the school curriculum because his mates at the pub explained it to him. They had got the full story from Sky After Dark. So it's all completely true. Why are you people questioning an honest, hardworking, well informed guy like Lucas?
comment in response to post
Which school do your 4 kids go to, Lucas? Explain to us what their daily diet of gender ideology and gay pride consists of? Fills us in.

Yes, agreed. It’s disappointing that they’ve proven to be so messed up, but I’m reaching for the off button now (USA channel: Off).

Around half of all working class voters DID NOT make that choice. But keep on making excuses for those who did.

1/1 A less than honest response in my book. People who voted for Trump did not “walk away”, they made a deliberate choice to install as President a lying, cheating, incompetent, racist sex pervert with little regard for the rule of law.

Not angry at all, just a bit cynical. The maga lemmings are doing much the same thing as Germans who voted National Socialist in 1934. It’s an act of stupidity which will make life in the USA significantly worse, not better. But carry on being an “non-left” apologist if that’s your thing.
comment in response to post
The big thing you fail to mention is that the “hope” of the battlers is a false hope. Typical of those who posture about “intellectual navel gazing”.
comment in response to post
Not sure what that means but I think it probably means: “the ‘Left’ didn’t solve the problems of America’s battlers so now let’s see if the non-lefty rabble in the Trump administration can do a better job”. About right?
comment in response to post
Nobody is “eager to hand life or death power over to a state”. That’s a figment of your imagination.
comment in response to post
What a strange comment to make. What is your point, if you have one that’s coherent?
comment in response to post
Um, please explain Glenn? What is ‘intellectual navel gazing’ exactly? A couple of examples would be helpful too. All the best.
comment in response to post
Good news. Let’s hope the maga army don’t decide to infiltrate blue sky as well.

Lots of us. Very good to see you making the move. I shut down my Twitter account 2 days after the US election. That army of bogans and Freikorps types is unbearable. Let’s hope they stay over there in the Musk club.
