Ah, yes. A problem with understanding her intentions from a short passage taken out of context. I’m inclined to read her full work, which got her burned at the stake.

My sense is that its entirely possible to hold a high view of the sacraments and still assert that all people can enjoy an intimate relationship with God without the need for physical/human mediators.

I think she is writing in the context of late medieval Christendom when the Church often gave the impression that it was the gatekeeper to people's relationship with God and that the outward Sacraments where the only route to salvation. In that sense, Porete is a precursor of the Reformation.
