some shin kamen rider art i made for a zine recently

this anime really nails this current moment and has more banter quotes than Hamlet lol @jonathanlack.bsky.social

Just finished TOMBSTONE, while I'm out in southwest Kansas. Great film. What is it with '90s westerns having absolutely stacked casts? This one's like friggin' Oppenheimer with how many icons are here.

...Rhea Ripley as Absolute Wonder Woman

Had to find something short to listen to on this drive, so I'm continuing my journey through Adrian Tchaikovsky's bibliography with SATURATION POINT.

#NewProfilePic With this boomer shooter shirt and this hair, I look like I'm cosplaying John Romero, lol.

Finished a Switch playthrough of VA-11 HALL-A: CYBERPUNK BARTENDER ACTION. Still one of my favorites. One of the best soundtracks ever.

The marriage story "every day I wake up" meme But it's the original dialogue And you know who it's referring to

I CALLED IT Though I still think it should be Stellan Skarsgaard as Scrooge so he can try to complete the set, lol.

ICE has only existed since 2003. A Bush-era creation, it is a militarized federal secret police that has been imbued with the Supreme Court with the unconstitutional power to ignore the fourth amendment. Abolishing it and salting the earth where it grew is the moderate stance.

Oh, the Pitchford dilemma. A really fantastic game made by a studio full of talented and probably nice people...run by a narcissistic asshole who makes you want to boycott his studio's projects so he'll fail, but you KNOW that the consequences will only ever fall on the nice people under him.

Celebrity "allies" talk to an actual trans person about what allyship looks like Challenge level: IMPOSSIBLE, apparently

I was literally JUST hyping up this book to my fiancée within the last hour, how serendipitous.

MY MONSTER JUST WON A NEBULA AWARD "Thank you" feels too small, but thank you to everyone who has supported this weird, little book. To everybody who it made feel a little less alone? Remember: we all belong.

I have to get up in like 4 hours to do a 10 hour shift of overtime Brain why are you still on

Femshep, Liara romance season 1, Garrus romance seasons 2 and 3 These are my demands

Listening to the audiobook of AXIOM'S END, which I read in print when it came out, but it's been years and I wanna do the whole series in this format. I forgot just how long it takes Ampersand to actually show up in this, or at least it feels much longer in audio.

Doing more Tchaikovsy today, this time it's ELDER RACE, which I'm really enjoying. A big part of CHILDREN OF TIME's conflict, of an inability to communicate because, even if you technically speak the language, the language doesn't contain the words you need, plays out in microcosm here.

Hey @2000ad.bsky.social and @rbmediaco.bsky.social , is there any reason why Judge Dredd: Year One, Judge Dredd: Year Three, and Judge Anderson: Year One have audiobooks, but Judge Dredd: Year Two doesn't? At least, the former three have Audible listings, but I don't see Year Two.

Just like the JUDGE DREDD: YEAR ONE short story collection, I'm enjoying JUDGE ANDERSON: YEAR ONE. Though while this is well-written, it's a little disappointing that the very first Anderson story has to involve getting her getting out of uniform and into a skimpy dress to go undercover.

Just finished one of my birthday 4Ks, DREDD. Now it's time for another one, Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD. I've only ever seen the US theatrical cut, this time I'm going Argento cut so I can check out the Goblin score.

delete this. i will not have neolib bush apologia slop be forced into my eyes during pride.

My start to Pride Month was finishing WELCOME TO DORLEY HALL, lol. Great book, btw. Super compelling, even as a cis guy (yes yes, make your egg jokes, I've heard them all). Can't wait for the next book.

I'M SO EXCITED It's the movie Del Toro's basically been building to his entire career, his whole LIFE maybe. Hell, my print copy of Frankenstein that was my first read of the novel? It's got a foreword from him.

youtu.be/x--N03NO130?... Only Monsters Play God…

Dorley Hall's a real page-turner

Just saw a comedian say "If vaccines caused autism then America would have trains" and I almost spit out my drink.

Okay, so I was thinking on the "who would play Ciaphas Cain" thing, really wracking my brain The conditions here are a) British, or can do a convincing British accent b) capable of playing genuinely cool, but also bumbling and barely keeping it together con-man energy. ...Robert Pattinson.

I just read "Bruce Campbell as Ciaphas Cain" in a reddit thread and now I want it so badly

What's your favorite silly sci-fi substitute for "fuck"? Top of my head, I'm thinking of "frakk" from BSG and WH40K, "frell" from Farscape, "drokk" from Judge Dredd, and "shock" from Spider-Man 2099. I'm partial to "drokk" myself.

Once in the military this Marine began chanting "blood for the blood god!" (idk) finally I called back "skulls for the skull throne" &he turned patiently to me, palm out, like some beneficent school prefect correcting a junior that, while my enthusiasm was a credit to me, skulls were OFF the table

Happy 35th!

Alright, time to start another important Warhammer 40k story: Ciaphas Cain in FOR THE EMPEROR.
