It's such a great pub town, and that's right near the top of the options. I've only been once but absolutely adored my time in that city

I know I'm in a minority of one, but I just don't get the hype over Bethell. Obviously talented, but as far as I'm aware, he's yet to score a ton in any form of professional cricket. At the moment, he's all fur coat and no knickers

There's an actual football club on White Hart Lane that would welcome and give them reciprocal love. The PL worked out during Covid that they don't need or want the actual fans, and they are never going to come back. They are brands now, not clubs. End/

I'm sorry, but it just reads as another victim of abuse story. Someone believing that the thing they love, loves them back, when the truth is the brand just want them around in case their weekend flings don't work out. 1/

Boss move for Ramaphosa would be to offer Musk political asylum.

25 years ago I could walk into my local in Slough and there were always people that would play a few hands over a pint. I even captained in a pub league. But yeah, don't see it being played too often these days. Certainly not here in north London

I haven't played for years. It's such a good game. Such a shame it's dying in pubs as I used to find it a very social way to pass a couple of hours

I woo hooed out loud when the 6 turned up. I then had to attempt to explain the scoring to the wife

I used to captain a pub team way back when and can barely remember all the nuances and scores. It's great game though

But I take a little umbrage at the poking fun of Jefferson. He's a lovely fella 😉

Thanks. Honestly having a bad day today. And just seen the Daggers have appointed Lee Bradbury as gaffer. How do community clubs compete with that sort of cash?

PS I know he's got bigger things to research, but I'd love to see @priceoffootball.bsky.social spreadsheet on the NLS to confirm my suspicion that were punching well above our weight in relation to profit & loss. Make it happen @calneeagle.bsky.social end/

Now that's off my chest, I'll finish by saying however doom mongering I feel today, it won't ever stop supporting the boys in Amber and Blue & I can't wait to see all the #RebelsOnTour or to be back at #ArbourPark next season. #OneSlough forever 🧡💙 6/

Given I really didn't for 16 years. And I'd rather go down and run the club responsibly than put us back in a precarious financial position. But we can't compete with clubs happy to lose 1.5m a season at step 6. It's depressing that the ability to lose money determines the league, AT STEP 6! 5/

And worse, even if we do over achieve, if the manager keeps pulling rabbits out of the hat, it won't be long before the big boys come calling for him too. Basically, unless 1 of #AllTheRebels wins the lottery, we'll be back in the SLPS within 3 seasons. I should be happy just to have a club 4/

But half empty says it's getting harder and harder to compete even at step 6 as a PT team. By my reckoning, there will be 10 FT sides in the division this season & the 3 promoted sides all have cash we can only dream of. I believe we've recruited well, but with 1 exception, they're step 7 players 3/

Now glass half full says it shows the club and manager can and do progress lads with ambitions into FT football. It creates a reputation so that good young players know that if they do well with us, the chances are that they will get a chance to play higher, and we won't stand in their way 2/

I really wanted you to do it today, mainly for Leon Parillon, and I can promise you that there were screams of joy all over Slough when he put you in front. Hes such a good lad. The best thing about football is there's always another season

Thinking about taking Monday as a MH day because I don't want to be anywhere physically near some of my colleagues. Hoping that getting in the kitchen later and cooking chicken karahi will perk me up. Cooking always makes me feel better. Promise that's the rant over /end
