WOW! I thought the food court placement was pretty good use of the space. When they took them out the place just felt so empty. Kudos to those who found photos! I was wondering how could anyone explain the aesthetic. Especially when you see the bright brass slats (?) on the ceiling above the tents!

I heard about the closure and re-development plan. Crossroads had three distinct phases. The dark wood and brass era from open till the late 80's. The circus tent era where they had the foodcourt in the middle of the mall, with strange striped circus tents for roof lines. Finally the ending era.

I grew up in Waterloo and I remember when they updated the mall to this look in '96 - '97. I was back in '22 and took this photo.

True! We’ve really enjoyed watching and getting invested in Ducks games this season. Not only that, but I now kinda understand what icing means! Small steps, small steps.

My wife and I shout the same thing at the TV every time we see this ad! Seriously, does anyone have agency in that universe?

Thank you for saying that. I thought I was the only one that thought this. Otherwise good score bug.

Such awesomeness. I worked support and retention for Prodigy back in the day and I remember when these ads started up. Prodigy was late to the expanding out of the walled garden party. They had Prodigy [dot] net and Prodigy Classic.

Forgotten?! Well, maybe outside of Angels fandom. But the ol' Rally Monkey still gets lots of love by Angels fans and still makes (far too) many appearances. Plus, every year there's at least one giveaway a year includes a Rally Monkey tie in. duckduckgo.com?q=rally+monk...
