Folks can argue all day about whether Jamie Lloyd is pretentious but there is absolutely no denying that the man knows how to do a proper gimmick. I love it. Doubt I’ll get the chance to see Evita in person (in either capacity) but can’t wait to see what comes next.

I haven’t read the later Foundation books but broadly, yes I would think so — MCE is also very interested in the idea of what shapes cultures (language/literature in particular in this case). And how those ideas can influence the people and power of an empire. Banger political thriller too.

I seriously can’t recommend Memory Called Empire enough. It’s so good. Incredible explorations of both that idea and this focus on media (in this case poetry) as the soul of culture that breathes so much life into the setting and feels so evocative for human history. Easily on my all time favs.

Folks, *please* read the article. A Netflix subscription will NOT be required to access new episodes. Netflix will release new episodes to PBS the SAME DAY they debut on Netflix, which is a better deal than they had with HBO, which waited 9 MONTHS to port episodes over to PBS.
