not a political insider like the clever ppl who get paid to write thinkpieces but I get the feeling that unlike them, the ppl of NYC were not interested in what the candidates would do after being appointed mayor of Tel Aviv

You could know literally nothing else about Zohran and know with 100% certainty he's the right guy for the job based solely on the names of the people who are apoplectic about his win

To be clear, I mean a few of them turned trans (not a big deal) and a lot of them really, majorly freaked out about it, and turned into far-right reactionaries.

“Wear a suit all the time” is a great strategy for Mamdani. Americans love to watch people wear suits. Cary Grant. Mad Men. The Godfather. Chris Nolan movies. Men in Black. The West Wing. Law and Order. John Wick. A show that was literally named “Suits” became the most watched thing on Netflix ever

I did not, in fact, convert for the aesthetic, well, not just for the aesthetic, anyways; nor have I received a dime from Mr. Theil.

I think the reason the entire world is paying attention to a New York mayoral race is the fact that both the mainstream media, republicans, and democrats are doing everything in their power from stopping a guy who might give the city free transportation and cheaper rent. True class solidarity

Basically, as I understand it, an entire generation of youth with zero proper sex education discovered autogynephelia for the first time about a decade ago (which is something sexual psychologists have known all about for centuries) and… well… that’s how we got here. Crazy.

Turns out there was a more exciting message than better things aren’t possible

I don’t think Rubio has his soul anymore, particularly if “eyes are windows to the soul”).

A thousand times this. 👇

This is the behavior we are just supposed to expect from our commanders in chief, now. What a country.

Basically, by the sound of it.

Well said.

I have no opinion on gamergate. I had nothing to do with it and was not a part of it in any way. From a distance, it sounds like the most fucked up shit I could imagine, and everyone on all sides of it look really bad. Just my opinion. Hopefully we can all keep it in the past. Hopefully.

LIBERALS! LIBERALS! LIBERALS! YOU'RE ALL LIBERALS! NONE OF YOU ARE FREE OF LIBERALISM!

Emil Bove just lied under oath, saying he did not advise DoJ lawyers to defy court orders.

Make it so… 🙏

Dear donald, Putin was the last leader to threaten a nuclear war. Wanta bomb a country that has nuclear weapons and would use nuclear weapons ? That would be Russia.

I… don’t know what to make of this.

I think what the powers-that-be in this country are really afraid of is not Mamdani, himself, per se; but the stunning success of rank choice voting. They are afraid it will catch on everywhere.

I have long maintained that Islamophobia, while distinct from Judeophobia, is ultimately still itself a form of anti-semitism.

Jesse Waters doesn’t have an out from any of this madness. It would almost make one feel sorry for him… almost.

My sister once told me, bad ass that she is: “Violence is always personal.” That’s always stuck with me. Don’t ever accept the bullshit, “Don’t take it personally,” line.

My wife just read a quote that blew my mind. “Boomers have supported every war — except the one(s) they were supposed to fight in.”

This is like finding the recipe for the ambrosia of the gods and throwing it away

The press is about to work overtime trying to explain why good things are bad actually

In the MidWest, we call them Short Stops. Pretty close to the same concept. Except ours usually have a drive-thru, because we drive everywhere. We don’t have walkable cities.

Congrats to Zohran for already finding a rent-free apartment in the mind of each conservative writer panicking about what his win means.

Religion and politics do not, and should not, mix. At least, not in America.

Theodor Herzl was a great man.

briefly wandered over to Twitter, where Loomer & the right are calling for the DoJ to prosecute Zohran as a terrorist, and a sea of random ‘leftist’ accounts are denouncing Zohran as a liberal Zionist fascist puppet for Jewish masters. so…uh…still pretty glad to be over here, I guess.

The best part of the Mamdani win is that a bunch of octogenarian Democratic officials might finally be realizing that it's long past time they pass the torch.
