Until that happens, they need to call out this weak effort to intimidate them from doing their jobs. Don’t be intimidated; don’t give them an inch.

Judge Blasts DOJ Lawyers After They Argue Transgender People Aren't Discriminated Against The Trump administration’s attempt to ban transgender people from military service is under fire in court. www.huffpost.com/entry/judge-...

JUST IN: A federal judge has ordered the reinstatement of Cathy Harris atop the Merit Systems Protection Board, ruling that Trump's decision to fire her exceeded his authority. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

DOJ leadership has put all Public Integrity Section lawyers into a room with 1 hour to decide who will dismiss Adams indictment or else all will be fired. Sending them strength to stand by their oath, which is to support the Constitution, not the president’s political agenda. 🇺🇸

Nah. D can't block R policy because Trump doesn't care about Congress. He took down whole departments w/o Congressional approval. Democrats obviously can't do the same thing. Things would be much easier if you guys focused on denouncing R during the election instead of demanding perfection from D.

Bingo. Say this. Every day. Every hour. @housedemocrats.bsky.social @senatedemocrats.bsky.social

JUST IN: All National Archives employees get email informing them that their ultimate boss, Archivist Colleen Shogan, has been fired by President Donald Trump www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Hey it turns out we're getting rid of the CIA. "The Central Intelligence Agency offered buyouts to its entire workforce Tuesday, in what officials said is a bid to bring the agency in line with President Trump’s priorities, including targeting drug cartels." www.wsj.com/politics/nat...

Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions. They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.

I'm keeping a running list of disappearing federal data in the 🧵 below. If there are others I missed let me know. crampell[at]washpost[dot]com or Signal username crampell.13

Should be on every Dems lips today that Trump was forced to rescind his illegal order. Dems will investigate when they recapture the House. Maybe sooner than later.

BREAKING: A federal judge has ordered a halt to Donald Trump's sweeping aid freeze, issuing a "brief administrative stay" to preserve the status quo for at least a few days while further litigation plays out.

Breaking on @MSNBC: 23 state attorneys general have filed a lawsuit seeking to block the federal aid freeze from taking effect. The lawsuit asks for a temporary restraining order, calling Trump's move "arbitrary and capricious."

For "One First," I wrote about Monday's OMB memo purporting to (temporarily) freeze billions of dollars of appropriated federal spending—and why it constitutes both unconstitutional and unlawful "impoundment" that's unlikely to be upheld by even *this* #SCOTUS: www.stevevladeck.com/p/120-the-im...

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is "taking a serious look" at running for the Michigan senate seat left open by the surprise retirement of Sen. Gary Peters, Axios has learned.

Appalling cruelty beyond comprehension. Trump is ordering an immediate, unlawful shutdown of PEPFAR, potentially denying life-saving HIV medication to millions of people. This guarantees a lethal, global resurgence of the HIV epidemic. Just unfathomable sadism. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/27/h...

Trump's Justice Department has dropped criminal charges against a Texas doctor who alleged accessed and shared private, protected information about patients—specifically, children receiving gender-related care—in violation of federal law. fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/legaldoc...

Maybe more people would remember this from Rhodes’s trial if the court allowed it to be televised. Maybe not. Print journalists like @rparloff.bsky.social provided unflinching coverage of that trial. It’s bizarre to see how easily history can be forgotten when only a few are there to witness it.

The goal is to overwhelm us so we give up. Don't do that!

The Trump admin has instructed federal health agencies — including the FDA, CDC, and NIH — to pause all external communications, such as health advisories, weekly scientific reports, updates to websites and social media posts. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

Trump’s new leadership at DOJ is threatening state & local leaders with criminal prosecution if they don’t support mass deportations. This is a serious step away from democratic norms. apnews.com/article/just...

Folks: This comment is not a comment about the inefficacy of writing a letter. The letter is not designed to do anything except lay a baseline for Comer's indolence. But to the extent the media cover it, it'd be nice to call out the "Communist China" tie.

Each email and call log is a different violent rioter who assaulted me in the tunnel. If you are defending these people who brutally assaulted the police, maybe you ARE NOT a supporter of the police and the rule of law to begin with. If you did you would want accountability.
