I tried so hard to tell them there were free resources like HeroForge and they just kept saying "well it made what I needed!" With the tone of "you understand, don't you??"

This was an older gentleman of similar experiences and kept trying to explain he "didn't want to use it but" and no amount of "then don't?? Look at these free resources??" got through so I had to walk away. Its maddening 🙃

They're also a regular so we have some rapport and I tried to respond nicely at first to explain why the slop sucks and there's so many options, but they just kept giving me excuses as if they wanted me to understand/forgive them.
