When people say that I usually respond with “so you see how playful it is? How dramatic? How to the point? Comparing work to children’s isn’t a bad thing. Did you ever feel joy looking at a child’s painting? Is that something we should keep out of museums?”

Still life can help absolutely. But subject doesn’t always matter. If you practice your observation skills, it should translate to anything you make.

Don’t talk about it. Just focus on community efforts that benefit everyone. Even if some people get upset at Facebook that you’re helping the homeless, or creating safe spaces, or cleaning the environment, don’t engage. Don’t speak about it being political. Focus on bringing people tgthr.

Self portraits is a good go to. Mess around in sketchbook. Draw anything you want. Draw what you love. Draw what you hate. And draw badly.

What I see is lines rushing to connect but are forced to be parallel. I also see how people are in the maze of life looking for connection maybe you find them and maybe they have a different idea of how to exit the maze, maybe they come with you for a while, maybe you turn around and they’re gone.

You don’t have to yell. But also yes we know what seo is. Put the story at the bottom or something.

I wonder how they’ll react when bird flu gets out of hand? Will they make the connection between an avian flu and rising prices? Will they have egg on their face when they have to reverse policies in fear of revolt when bird flu starts ravaging humans the same way?

Thank you. A River can be anything and I wanted her to feel that too. Thank you for the suggestion I will check it out 🌼

I have not. I looked up the description and it sounds very interesting. I am always apt to read a book with River in the title as that is my daughter’s name.

I just finished Lonesome Dove. I don’t know how yet but I know that book changed something in me. I think I will read Go as a River next.

Whenever I feel this, I am on the brink of something interesting and transformative. It is hard to find your voice again once you’re away from your art because you yourself have taken the time to grow and change. Now is the moment to experiment and find what speaks to your soul in this new phase. 💙

Photography, can find a simple point and shoot or even a disposable if you want to be off the phone. Nice way to enjoy a walk or going to new places. Bullet Journaling has helped me unplug before bed lately as well.
