I am afraid how effective it is with US, Hungary and Slovakia each having a veto power.

Nice ideas for three years ago. It’s time for radical and norm-breaking ideas - supranational European armed forces and common nuclear deterrent. This is what will put the EU on the equal footing with the US and Russia. Not some vague blah blahs about ‘more investment in defense’

Classic European leaders. Why are they willing to spend days in Brussels to try to agree the next MFF, but continue to kick the can down the road in the face of a truly existential danger? 🤯

@vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu, it's time to use the powers GRANTED to the Commission by the Treaties. Propose asap the enhanced cooperation mechanism for countries willing to establish common armed forces!

Thank you. Hopefully the three Baltics will be firm and force other leaders to make truly meaningful steps towards the common defense union.

Labai gerai. Reikia dar daugiau - bendrų gynybinių pajėgumų, įskaitant bendrą branduolinio atgrasymo skėtį. Su nenuspėjama JAV, Lietuva bus saugi tik su stipria gynybine ES.

I trust the Baltic team to ice-break through some Member States reluctance to start implementing some truly innovative initiatives in foreign affairs and defense.

What mandate does he have to represent the US at such meetings? Concerning!

I am surprised that the European S&D is fine with the Lithuanian socialdemocrats working with the far right, while they are so furious about EPP doing the same at the European Parliament 🙄

Even though this approx. €15m per Member State, covering perhaps a handful of air defense missiles, this is a good first step.

So they will keep two tiers - one free with tracking, and the other paid with no tracking. Is this legal? If there was only the paid tier, it would seem so, but now it makes it quite unclear.
