“I Don’t Know has stopped playing third base in an Abbott and Costello sketch and is now going to be the director of national intelligence.” — that is Pulitzer winning material. Great column in a terrible subject.

Community should take place before new developments with new rules happen in a neighborhood. If you want people to think differently about housing you have to do a lot of educational work. The conversation is about what a community can do to add housing rather than rage against a specific project.

Great show and a funny story. I had two friends who had a long standing bet about whether the Dead would ever play Mona. When it happened, the loser had to dance in the-dyed underwear at the next show. Very memorable.

We saw that band on Friday night in Santa Cruz. In the newly renovated Quarry Amphitheater. A good night to dance with friends and family.

Less like Deadheads and more like People Temple’s or Heaven’s Gate cultists.

My parents took me to the Broadway show and I was so happy to see a vampire on Broadway. Validation.

Night Music was a great show. The episode with Sonny Rollins and Leonard Cohen (also including Ken Nordine) was great music and great TV.

I have found the apps EvGo & Plugshare help plan any trip. Your range is affected by the way you drive so you can farther if you don’t go at crazy speeds. You want to focus on level 3 chargers when trying to fill up on a trip. Plan on stopping for lunch or dinner on a longer trip of over 200 miles.

Sport betting in CA may not be legal but spending over $4 million on betting is where the blame needs to be put.

one modest healthcare reform that fixed like a third of the problems set against a major macro botch and extending the Bush security state. not great

In CA, I think that the developers would be able to go to the state and get approval if it met building standards and the community had not provided enough affordable housing.

I listened to this interview and Kennedy is a mess. On the autism question I was surprised at how unprepared he was for the slightest push back. I thought about your book. And it's never a good sign when you can't answer a tough question with anything other then another question.
