i get that the idea seems to be "if you want to really make it, you have to be in on the ground floor." that's probably true. but it's not "develop a good product" or "build a reputation as a provider of a service" so much as "find a trick and milk it before anyone realizes what you're doing"

we think of this as "we will shame the public" but i also imagine there is something utterly terrifying about hitting someone repeatedly and seeing them get up and keep walking in a massive line towards you with zero intention to stop
