I partially agree. My grandmother’s Southern recipe added a few additional items. The icing also matters, cream cheese frosting is cheating. There is an actual cooked icing that goes with the recipe. I agree that all of the commercial cakes I’ve had are just red chocolate cake.

That is exactly true, I read an article that discussed how American Christianity also promotes the concept that you are rich because God wanted you to be rich. If you aren’t…. Oh well. I grew up attending Church and I started noticing things/changes like this around 1980.

No problem. If you get a chance to go you will love it, it’s a very special place. There is a restaurant in town called “The Winds”, it’s very good and reasonably priced. Farm to table type of place.
