Love making sonic look angular, it's kind of the same mentality as saiyan hair where they make it have sharp edges rather than just have them smooth

Yeahhh my thoughts exactly. Also he's too bulbous and not enough sleekness and spikey, something the CD and the OVA design had effortlessly. Plus modern does not look intimidating at all, he has lost all aura I fear....

They are two completely different people that share the same purpose in their dimension (which is being the hero). An "alternate version of sonic" doesn't mean their the same. If anything she compares more to knuckles than sonic.
