Experiments and data are what they are. Funding decisions (and therefore decisions about what to pursue) are largely driven by political environment which makes everything discovered and publicized the product of the political environment of that time
(E.g. Galileo and WW2 physicists and whatnot)

If you see a new scientist to the platform, please take special care to boost their content! One thing bsky's algorithmless feed sucks at is helping new people acquire views and followers. So the site feels especially hard for new people, which is one of the downsides to having no-algorithm.

The NIH is getting most of the attention but this administration gutting funding across ALL areas of scientific research and investment, in EVERY FIELD. Say goodbye to America being a scientific and innovating leader in biology, physics, chemistry, math, etc. we’re talking 50-90% cuts to funding.

If you want to equate interactions with individual people that live in a country with the entire country, go for it.
Just be consistent with it.

Everyone is free to make their own decisions about everything and whatever consequences may happen will happen.
People need to own these decisions is all.
But there’s no simple answer that accomplishes anything when everything is terrible in a complex situation
