This gave me my morning laugh - I read it as I was doing my daily stretches to try to limber up enough to face a long drive.

So it turns out he is not immortal. What a surprise!

Alas, that’s proving to be true!

I get the impression narcissism is on the rise. Individualism seems to have morphed into narcissism…perhaps because it was socially tolerated?

We tend to complain about being overrun but our visitors are well-behaved and it is a huge boost to the local economy!

Oh - you are right! I assumed it would be the same as Carney becoming the Liberal leader before being elected - but the rules are different. Thanks for letting me know!

My little island off the West Coast is always a tourist hub. But not normally until July and August. It’s been packed since the end of May.

He is still the leader of the official opposition. We may not like it but it is a fact.

I was out on a very breezy day, watering my garden and pulling a few weeds. When I went in the house was so…quiet. Wonderfully quiet.

Trump opened the door. Flung it wide open.

I’ve been reading the bill and, from what I see, these new powers are available to law enforcement only subject to an approved warrant. It doesn’t seem to give them the power to do these things without reasonable grounds for doing so.

Judges already have the ability to deny bail to violent or repeat offenders. The question is, are they doing so effectively? If not, why? Lack of correctional spaces? Data showing it doesn’t reduce crime? Unrealistic faith in mental health services?

This is hilarious. Working for Trump combined with his own hubris and idiocy, was costing Musk his financial empire. Now he is trying to distance himself to save his business interests. As if anything can save him now.

Trump will try anything to overturn Biden’s pardons. Meanwhile he has pardoned dozens of criminals who still owed their victims thousands in restitution - meaning those victims will never see a cent.

Hitler did this with the brown shirts. Made sure arrests were highly publicized. All part of the plan to advertise the new Fuhrer-controlled police and to paint the citizenry as criminals.

And government has announced some measures to increase this, correct? I’d also suggest we need to look at licensing requirements. It’s big business and the requirements for some professions are ridiculously high.

In other words, they don’t seek peace; they demand to be rewarded for starting the war.

The saddest part is that pardons are usually reserved for those who have completed, or nearly completed, their sentence and have paid any required restitution. Trump’s pardons allowed criminals to avoid paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in restitution to the victims of their crimes.
