When my son (a Delta pilot) landed in Newark last week at 3 am, there was ONE in the tower. One! She was managing it all.

I had a tour of the Anchorage airport tower years ago. It’s really astounding to have only 3 on duty at such a busy airport as this one. It’s reckless to operate that way. No blame directed toward the atc on duty. They were clearly doing their best.

Air traffic control is an amazingly stressful job in the best of circumstances. I can’t imagine what these people are going through now, trying to do their jobs under such circumstances.

If the public is staying informed and aware of these issues, the blame should be shouldered by our government. I know that’s what I’ll be screaming about anyway!
