Congratulations to local school Hursthead Infant School who have recently committed to developing a dead hedge as part of giving back 30% for Nature. Their green team took three ideas to a whole school assembly and the dead hedge was the winner! They have future ideas too, which is fabulous 👏🏼👏🏼💚

🚨 ONE DAY TO GO! 🚨 @rozsavagemp.bsky.social joined #CANBill campaigners outside Parliament yesterday—ahead of its Second Reading tomorrow, Friday 24 January! 🗳️ It's not too late to email your MP to ask them to back—and vote to progress—the Climate and Nature Bill. 🐝 action.zerohour.uk

From today's #DailyNewsDigest📰: "On January 24, the cross-party climate and nature bill is up for debate in parliament. This bill would put our stated international targets into national law, making sure we walk the talk." – @uk.theconversation.com theconversation.com/the-uks-inte...

Friends of the Earth, Wildlife Trust, and Greenpeace lead calls for PM to back Climate and Nature Bill incm.pub/40Ur2id

Well done to Ladybrook Primary School who signed up to the 30% for Nature campaign through us last year. Today the Headteacher & Year 5 pupils planted 100 wildflower bulbs down their slope - bluebells, snowdrops, snake's head fritillary - after we donated £50 supported by Mounting Stone quizzers 💚

Vital reading for the government with its current obsession with growth at all costs (growth of what and for whom is never spelt out). A commitment to restore nature was conspicuous by its absence from PM’s Plan for Change, launched last month - that urgently needs to change 👇

"The UK government is falling short on most of its targets to improve the environment" (...) incl "the marine environment, achieving 'thriving plants & wildlife', and general biodiversity trends". Bottom trawling is still taking place in Marine Protected Areas 😡 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

📣 “By voting for the Climate and Nature Bill on 24 January, MPs can show that they’re serious about regaining trust from voters who see climate and environmental action as a priority.”— Dr Roz Savage MP 📰 www.bigissue.com/opinion/clim... @bigissue.com 🐝 action.zerohour.uk #CANBill

📣 “Keir Starmer—the Climate and Nature Bill is an opportunity for the Government to show cross-party support on the need for an integrated approach to the climate-nature crisis. It would deliver a joined-up framework, ensuring the UK meets its international commitments.” @libdemvoice.org #CANBill

A little list ...

📣 “The Climate and Nature Bill will improve the lives and livelihoods of people across the UK, as well as around the world—we urge you, Keir Starmer to support the passage of the #CANBill through Parliament.”

🌏 #CANBill champions Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall & Dominique Palmer's message for Ed Miliband: “Ed, as you know, climate and nature are inextricably linked—and as we know, you’re a supporter of restoring the natural world. Now, we need your support for the CAN Bill. Please, back it, don’t block it.”

One of our big projects at the moment is promoting the campaign encouraging us all to give back 30% of our outside/ green spaces back to Nature. Hursthead Junior School is our most recent local school to join us! They've committed to developing a 'Pollinator Patch' in the Spring/Summer 💚
