He's doing much better, but almost 5 days without nutrition surely didn't help his surgical recovery. It looks months to recover, but he wanted to get back to life every step of the way.
Ludicrous how USA treats the elderly.

I had to practically bully the palliative care to bug off. He had just had a surgery to successfully remove cancer a month before and very much wanted to be alive.
Literally, a speech therapist told me not to give in, a Dr called and said I was doing right, and a surgeon overruled an attending.

I just say I have a "multi-religious" family.
Explaining the nuances of religion, identity, personal belief, language, ethnicity is tiresome.
I should just pick out of the jar every morning.
