Lived in Central Coastal QLD for over 20 years. Every single State & Federal election we have announcements to "fix" the Bruce Highway. 7.2 billion will not scratch the surface of this goat track. It won't make it dual carriageway, only fix "black spots". Decades of neglect for a National Hwy.

Kara got to her stitches, had a fever at 6pm front paw 3 times the size. Wetting tea towels & rotating in the freezer every 5 minutes, refused to drink, hand fed frozen coconut yoghurt. Fever broke just after 1am, been awake all night. Waiting for the vet to open to get some antibiotics.

Hoping to avoid town Monday & Tuesday. Appointment at Base Hospital pre MRI to rule out MS Monday, Kara has a grass seed that needs surgery Tuesday. Silver lining, wasn't going to bother with seafood this year, can visit the co-op early after dropping Kara off to the vet.

Been so lucky to dodge the heatwaves with rainy days but the 7 day cyclone forecast is looking a lot like Oswald. Cat 5 cyclones often do less damage (especially if they hit in non-urban areas) than Cat 1 stagnant rain depressions that cause major flooding.
