I loved India . This was a couple of years ago. It has been a dreary long winter here this year. Oh for the sun.

I am nearing the final chapters of my new novel The Queen’s Sister about Elizabeth Seymour. It is sad writing about Thomas Cromwell’s fall though the more I research the more I see he was very much the architect of the fall. He misjudged. He opened himself to danger and he did not end that marriage.

Today is a Christmas shopping day. The tree is up and glittering and the Christmas cards written and stamped. I love Christmas.

I watched the Kenneth Branagh Henry V on this wintertime afternoon and was blown away by it. Hard to believe it was made in 1989. A positive great.

I am reading Courage for the Cabinet Girl by Molly Green which is a very original novel set the the war offices below ground during WWII. It’s excellent.
