I'm tired of being enraged today. Here's a baby goat in a wig. (Sh. It counts )

With the cancellation of 08-166 the total money "saved" by cancelling CRP projects is $6.6 million. Some of the projects were nearly finished. If you're a transportation person who relies on NCHRP, TCRP, ACRP, or BTSCRP - talk to your peers about this. Silence isn't going to save us.

Goofy cat picture for your enjoyment. (Goodness knows we need it right now.)

My lab group is doing a research study on cargo bike users in North America. If you are a cargo bike user and have a minute to take the survey we'd love to hear from you. Or please feel free to share or repost for other cargo bike users. Many thanks! pennstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

A needed correction to disinformation on biking in D.C. from a local journalist

No Kings, Only Trains is a nice fit for this year’s #TranspoBINGO. This year we’re fighting for DC and local autonomy, in addition to public transit and public spaces. Board goes live in less than a week at www.transpobingo.com.

Half an hour to go, Hokies. As I said yesterday, this is an especially difficult time to be asking for money, but public institutions--and especially groups like the Pride Center being targeted by this Administration--need what help we can spare for them.

If you are a cis person *please* take 2 minutes to do this. Trans people with non-updated gender markers, historical gender marker changes, and X markers are terrified to travel right now; rolling back this policy would mean a lot.

TBQH I find asking for money awkward as hell in the best of times, let alone when so many have suddenly and capriciously lost their jobs and livelihoods, but if you're able to help raise up current and future Hokies that they too may serve, please do. givingday.vt.edu/amb/swiderski

Is your impostor syndrome keeping you from, say, writing for @ggwash.org? Well, have I got a story for you:

Add it to the list of things to call your reps about.

Blue Line trains where they don't belong, from yesterday (in order: L'Enfant upper level, College Park, Hyattsville Crossing, and Fort Totten lower)

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990. One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS. #LGBTplusHistoryMonth

Highways and Airports are also *not profitable.* Airlines themselves barely make a profit and the industry is routinely bailed out by government. But everyone acknowledges that highways and airports are integral to the nation's economy, which is very "profitable." Same for trains.

Essential work, done by skilled and dedicated public servants. Let's keep it that way.

Too soon, Hallmark

what's a Meta for, anyway?

Transportation academics: I’m hearing murmurings of political interference in federal support for transport research, including at TRB. If you have information, please get in touch here or through other channels. Signal is @davidzipper.15

wild. Metrorail switch work in Rosslyn this weekend will close Arlington Cemetery and Courthouse stations -- and send the Blue Line over the Yellow Line bridge....and all the way to Greenbelt. wmata.com/about/news/P...

Er, @bikeshare.bsky.social, is the 11th & Girard St NW station offline? It's not showing on the map...

Oh my.

#BikeDC lane report: - Kenyon NW mostly clear with random slush piles. B+. - Warder NW mostly clear, except every entrance every block from Lamont to Rock Creek Church is plowed in. Take the lane. - Seventh NW; Sherman Cir: Barely touched, unusable. Take the lane. - NB Piney Branch mostly clear. A.

It’s really not that complicated. #PlowTheSidewalks

as a wise philosopher one observed, the days start coming and they don't stop coming. he said "years" but another philosopher (me) once observed that years are just a bunch of days in a big ol' pile, so, we're good qwantz.com/index.php?co...
