Yet again, a protected bird of prey has been shot in an area dominated by intensive gamebird shooting management. We had hoped the new legislation introduced by the Scottish Parliament last year would help, but clearly there are still those motivated to break the law. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

While no sighting of the avocet, I saw about 24 species at the Eden estuary today, including three new on the life list - pintail, black-tailed godwit, and Brent geese :) That’s the fun thing about being quite new to this, every outing is a chance at a lifer 🤭
