I think a lot of Americans, not just NYers, think NYC is a liberal town because of its one-party politics. It’s not. AOC’s informal survey of her constituents who voted for her + Trump was very illuminating. That & basically all of NYC history since the Tammany Hall era.

This is why I quit Facebook shortly after Trump’s first inauguration. I quit twitter after Musk. I quit Instagram right after Trump’s 2nd, but for slightly different reasons. Anyway, I have an easier time taking a break from Bluesky when the TL’s a bummer than with my previous sm platforms.

I have been a fan for decades of Canada’s jaunty “walk” sign! It’s also a handy giveaway if seen in a movie or tv show that it was filmed in Canada, usually Toronto or Vancouver.
