love that some dude messaged my sister about my romance comic insta being like “i think you’d like this” and she’s like “guess what.”

trump can come be a woman in academia for one year and then talk about DEI.

ready to honor trina, and absolute legend and one of the best friends i ever had. wearing a trina prada top from the SS 2018 ready-to-wear line. an “it ain’t me babe” tote that i made (i made on for trina too$ and a rose color skirt with black tights and roses on them not seen: purple docs.

conference wear but make it comics! wearing wanda skirt and cardigan by teddy fresh. wearing prada tshirt from SS2018 ready-to-wear line. and purple doc martens. for #caa2025 #comics #comicstudies #comicbookfashion

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m in Forbes talking about #romancecomics ! Thanks @robsalk.bsky.social , it’s an honor to be interviewed by you! #comics

this guy’s favorite thing about new york is the size of his chicken parm.

so random when you and your friend happen to be in new york at the same time! very happy to run into dennis kitchen and see the will eisner show he put together.

started off the conference by taking my glasses off and not being able to find them because i’m blind.

i have been repeatedly learning this lesson the past five years, but the coolest thing about going through something absolutely horrible is seeing how your friends support and show up for you.

Excited to see @kmunson.bsky.social and @margaretgalvan.bsky.social soon!

been finishing my notes on a little presentation/talk about Trina Robbins’s impact on my life as a mentor and friend (as well as her impact on the lives of other woman). hoping not to cry in New York!

1800 downloads and 4586 views. thank you to everyone who cares about my story. it’s been four years. #comics #memoircomics #ptsd

if a graduate student shares resources with you and gives you an idea for an article and you promise to thank them in said article you should thank them.

fibro hit me really hard today. had to lay in bed with ice packs on my arms and a pillow over my head while i listened to audio books for comps. it sounds pathetic but it felt good to figure out how to survive today.

friend drew a little portrait of me. very fitting.

newest cake! #gobucks

new art therapy work featuring my cat alfred. haven’t really done animation before so this is exciting! #wip #arttherapy #animation

great meeting with advisor about my prospectus!

so far this week: updated prospectus draft and sent to advisor, started putting together comic con panels (looking for ways to honor trina), and got a biopsy! two of those things were fun.

to all the people who lost a literary hero today. i promise the victims lost much more.

made a dinosaur cake to celebrate my best friend’s first time watching. jurassic park. i had to make the dino chocolates on top because there weren’t any dinosaur cake decorations at the store. it's a strawberry funfetti cake with sparkling rose buttercream.

What looks to be a good panel with some excellent scholars talking about the work and legacy of an important voice in comics.

Honored to be presenting on the panel, “In Memoriam Trina Robbins: New Research in the History of Women Cartoonists,” at the CAA annual conference. My particular presentation is fittingly titled “Trina Robbins: Feminist Activist as Friend and Mentor.“ #comicsstudies

I remember being a teenager making queer webcomics and not being able to access my own website at school. They were "protecting" me from MYSELF. This isn't about protecting kids, it's about repressing them.

finished “the anatomy of my spine” today. this comic felt kind of painful the whole way through with only a few pages really bringing any catharsis. the last page felt really good and i think i did for myself what i was trying to do with “how i leave you.”

my love for comics goes beyond academics and into my clothes and intersects with my love of fashion. very excited to have thrifted this lanvin little nemo sweater with some of my christmas money.

good start to being back from the holidays. went to gym to get back on the physical therapy program, stopped by the comics shop, and bought a bunch of groceries and such. made plans with some of the friends i’ve needed to catch up with. tomorrow we get ready for the academic and work stuff.

almost home after a wonderful back-to-back visits with my fiancé’s family and my family. alfred went with us because he’s been having asthma issues.

time for a very normal, almost boring, year. i deserve it.

No AI tool can give the students the detailed feedback they need to understand how to write a history paper.

Attacking vaccines has always been absurd behavior. But coming for the POLIO VACCINE is batshit.
