No problem, been watching your videos for a while and was hoping you'd come back in another form after all that nonsense went down at Wisecrack. Looking forward to it!

The 1989 film was a reimagining of the early 1900's comic (which was also the basis for the 1911 film). The game was a licensed tie-in with the film.

Final Fantasy VIII is NOT a punching bag! (Punching bags are much more fun to play with)

I honestly think so little about IGN that I couldn't have told you whether or not it was a dead site until just now 🤣

IGN still exists?

This is a bit of a false equivalency - nobody's railing against the kind of A.I. that controls motion and behavior in video games.

I think the 8-bit games pretty much require nostalgia to enjoy at this point. I love DQ 1,2 AND 4 because I grew up with them... but I never played 3 as a kid, so even though I love the rest of them I can't get into 3 as an adult.

Rule of Rose is one of the most impactful stories I've seen in a game, and am incredibly deep puzzle box. The gameplay... isn't good. But it's not the kind of game I play for the gameplay - the overall experience is top-tier

I do, I like Quest eggs and ham! I do like it, Sam I am! And I would play it in my room And I would play instead of Doom And I would play it on a boat And I would play it, it's the GOAT

Can't ever go wrong with Doraemon for the Famicom!

I probably got three hours, better than nothing. Worst part was figuring out a position that wasn't murder on my back 🤣

Unfortunately that's exactly what I have to do tonight. Frontier basically told me "too bad, we can't get you there for two days and we'll only pay for one hotel stay" so they can go fuck themselves and I'm flying United in the morning

Yeah, I played a few hours of it like a decade ago and thought it seemed really neat (even though yes, the gameplay was fairly weak). Looking forward to playing the rest

This is the first year, but it looks like it's gonna be pretty cool

Yeah. Something definitely seemed wrong, but I didn't know exactly what until two years later my wife worked as an artist for a project that flipped the same package and I recognized it 🤣

Long ago, we hired an external dev to create a mobile puzzle game. As a design consultant, I would give feedback and 95% of it was met with puzzlement from a programmer who didn't know how to do it. Two years later I realized that they had asset flipped a $10 Unity pack for the $200k paycheck.

It's impressive how the first major role playing game was inspired by other major role playing games like Wizardry and Ultima!

I barely played it, given that the only translation patch for it is VERY rudimentary. Looks interesting in concept but what I've seen didn't really fill me with a lot of hope. @randomstranger.bsky.social didn't seem terribly impressed either: youtu.be/BGVCtg0lafw?...

I was once told that I should die of herpes because my game was too hard when you played it on hard mode. Gamers are awesome.
