The European Union has given the green light to post-Brexit youth visas with the UK, after member states approved talks on how they would work in practice. Campaigners welcomed what they hailed as a “massive step forward for young people in the UK” 👏 www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

I'm supporting Adrian and Ellie to be Green Party Leaders because this is a key moment for our party. We must move into the space left by Labour and Conservative vote collapse - or Nigel Farage will! 👇 #TogetherWeWin @elliechowns.bsky.social @adrianramsay.bsky.social

Students in England graduate with average £53,000 debt. Total debt £266bn, up to 7.3% interest. Most European nations don't charge university tuition fees, England does. What was public debt, is now personal debt. People penalised for education, can't start family, business. Abolish uni fees.

Today is #WorldRefugeeDay2025 - an opportunity to stand with those forced to leave their homes to flee oppression, war and violence across the globe. This week I stood up in parliament to remind MPs of the core British values of compassion and welcome.

While the eyes of the world are on Iran, the Israeli military is still slaughtering civilians in Gaza as they try to access food after months of starvation. We can't let the Israeli govt's unprovoked attack on Iran distract us from the unfolding genocide www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Listen to Obama: "I'm asking you to believe not in my ability to bring about change, but in yours." We are the ones that we have been waiting for. #NoKings

Kellogg: We haven’t had an American president since Abraham Lincoln who’s done what Zelensky’s doing. He’s fighting a war of national survival, on his own soil, for sovereignty. You have to appreciate what they’re facing. 1/https://x.com/i/status/1933259432634245247

This Is Not Normal

Congratulations Agnes. It was great to join you to get out the #GetGreensElected message, and now to see the #VoteGreen result!

"We’ll never outshout Reform – but we can outshine them... People are crying out for a genuine alternative, real solutions, politics with integrity – & that’s what the Greens offer" www.thecanary.co/uk/news/2025...

Fascists need wars. This is as true of Netanyahu, Putin & Trump as it was of Mussolini & Hitler.

Huge congratulations to Dr Agnes Watson for being elected as councillor for Haughley, Stowupland & Wetherden, joining the 23-strong team running Mid Suffolk. Get involved: midsuffolk.greenparty.org.uk/about-us/get... Help Clare win in Bury St Edmunds: actionnetwork.org/campaigns/to...

All the nature & wildlife charities & NGOs are appalled by the Planning & Infrastructure Bill, which strips away vital protections for the natural world. So important that Green MPs & peers are resisting this assault on nature in parliament.

Cllr Sue Lee-Richards gets what leadership means: deep roots, hard work, and never giving up. She’s led from the front in Kirklees — and I’m honoured she sees the same commitment in Ellie and me. Let’s build on it. #TogetherWeWin

Your 'moment of kakistocracy' for today: “The entire content production staff at climate.gov (including me) were let go from our government contract on 31 May ... We were told that our positions within the contract were being eliminated.” www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Three Rivers Talking Newspaper in Waveney uses audio recordings to bring the news to those unable to read newspapers. I really enjoyed talking with volunteers and people who use this service. It was great hearing about this invaluable work, which is crucial in tackling social isolation.

Huge thanks Hugh for your support, both in Herefordshire last year and now for the leadership! #TogetherWeWin

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/e... All I can say - FU Trump. Putin is a criminal aggressor, USA under MAGA's heel is no longer a defender of the free world.

Just voted against the government's Planning and Infrastructure Bill after they rejected our efforts to bring in measures to build social housing. Sadly, this Bill is a charter for greed, giving developers carte blanche to line their pockets building luxury homes for the rich that most can't afford

When did you ever hear the BBC stating that it must alter “story selection” and “other types of output, such as drama”, to win the trust of Green voters, or of unrepresented people on the left? All the shifts are in just one direction. bylinetimes.com/2025/06/09/b...

We're not here to hold signs. We’re here to hold power. I’ll share why being in Westminster matters – and how we grow our influence to win bigger, faster, further. Come along on 12 June 👇 www.ellie-adrian-2025.org/events #TogetherWeWin

Some GREAT good news for a change: The streets of Romania are erupting in celebration tonight. Nicusor Dan, Romania’s pro-EU candidate beats hard-right rival to win the presidential election. Many say he has done the impossible 53.92 vs 46.08%🥳 The world is rejecting Trumpism. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy. This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

Not right! Oil giant Shell effectively paid no tax on North Sea oil and gas drilling in the UK last year and got £12.4 million back from the UK Government, new filings show. In contrast, the company paid a total of $3.4 billion to the Norwegian government last year and $243m in Germany.

The two-party system is failing. A hung Parliament is within reach. More Green MPs could hold the balance of power - and change the game. You've told us we need inspiring, proven leadership. And a team ready to win. www.ellie-adrian-2025.org #TogetherWeWin

It's kind of telling that the fantasy things that Reform candidates said we needed to rid ourselves of, to make it all better, turn out not to exist in the places they said they would rid us of them. So they aren't the problem, nor would ridding us of it make things better. Rather like the 🇪🇺.

Anti-genocide protests happening across Israel today. In Jerusalem Israeli protestors held up images of Palestinian children murdered in Israel’s ongoing genocide campaign in Gaza. (🎥 arixegal) #3E #EndImpunity #FreePalestine

Not a surprise at all UK housebuilders put up the worst new builds in Europe - smallest rooms, poor quality build, crap insulation Profit is everything and they won't even put in a £35 swift brick They are an utter disgrace www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Quoting Enoch Powell is never a coincidence. The Prime Minister knew what message he was sending — and who he was sending it to. Disgraceful.

Reform UK’s plans to obstruct green energy projects in Lincolnshire put at risk almost £1bn in local investment and more than 12,000 jobs, How many people analysed policies before voting for Reform, the party that also voted against worker rights.

Brexit led to 1,500 deaths a year as EU nurses left UK. Replaced by less experienced or skilled staff, which had a knock-on effect for patients. Brexit has done immense harm. No impact assessment was provided. Farage/Reform still doing the same with their nationalist rhetoric.

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

Oh. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

I was never a fan of Kuenssberg, but less because of bias and more because I think she's mediocre and overpromoted. But she's unwatchable nowadays. The technique (a Sun technique, actually) of dressing every point and every question as somehow coming directly from "viewers" is utterly disingenuous.

Norwich: Greens HOLD all three seats on the City and County councils with huge majorities over Labour and Reform Congratulations to Ian Stutely, Jenny Knight and Serene Shibli Three more Greens elected 👏

I’m thrilled that from 2027 all new homes in England will be built with solar panels—a big green win! I’ve been raising this in Parliament time and again since I was elected—it’s fantastic to see that work paying off for families and the planet. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

So rare I can give an unambiguous welcome to a UK govt policy - it’s a real pleasure to see this long overdue change New homes will save up to £1000 on energy bills with solar on roof Finally, the housebuilder lobby against these rules has been seen off www.thetimes.com/uk/environme...
