The answer is: because Hamas, sponsored by Iran, violently oppresses the Palestinian people. This still doesn't mean that Israel made no mistake whatsoever. It's just an important fact to consider.

Serious question: why don't the Palestinian people take the Palestinian leadership accountable for the war that they started?

If true, it is very interesting that it turns out to be completely possible to hand over Israeli hostages without celebratory parades, music, and macabre humiliation rituals of the living and dead. Who knew?

They do not live as a part of Israel, and it's fine. They do not want Israel to exist, and I don't know how to negotiate with that.

It was staged, but Kubrick, beeing a perfectionist, insisted on on-site filming.

If I am allowed to copy random apps from github and claim that its mine, then I guess I can write more.

A feleségem hangfelismerője se érti az indiaiakat. Az enyém szerencsére kapott pár hónap speciális tréninget 2009-ben, azóta jobban értem őket, mint a briteket :)

Programmer here, Musk demonstrates incompetency over multiple disciplines. This would be OK without the arrogance. I mean, he would be a completely different person, if he would be a completely different person.

OTOH I demand the pun

Thanks! I stand corrected.

Hamas was founded in 1987. The rest of the post is, unfortunately, true.

In my teens was competitively kayaking, and my take is that most of the people just can't do sports for a living. This should set the priorities for this discussion.

To me, saying you as a non-US person will boycott US trans authors has "boycotting Anne Frank because she lived in Nazi Germany" energy. I won't boycott minoritized creators living under oppressive regimes. I have come to accept that this is not a popular stance. But it is mine.

I read them ~30 years ago, as far as I can recall, his works didn't depend too much on the language. I guess, some of his humor is rooted in the culture.

Are Rejtős works translated to English? Probably not, so here is a Hungarian wisdom from 1940: "Grófnő, egy okos embert csak kétszer lehet becsapni!"

He won with supermajority, so his party alone could rewrite the constitution, as well as the electoral system. By the time this happened, his party, the Fidesz was already like a cult around him. After this he just followed Putins playbook.

Another difference is that in Hungary it was way easier to remove the checks and balances of power.

For most of the countries, criticism against government policies aren't labelled as anti-country. E.g. just because someone is against the Uyghur concentration camps, doesn't mean that they are anti-China, in general. I think the same should apply to Israel.

I am not sure though that I can find any meaningful difference between these two.

Oh, I get it now.

I presume, one could develop assisitve devices that are actually helpful, but that would be lot of engineering effort. Not sure who has the money & incentive to make them.

On the one hand, as long as he refuses assistive devices, no amount of technology can help him. On the other hand, as a programmer, I see that chat-based AI looks fascinating, but doesn't help too much, if helps at all.

For the record, I'm not a fan of Horthy. However, not accepting any peace deal could've made us the Palestinians of Eastern Europe.
comment in response to post
Had Horthy not accepted the Antants terms, this could be a reality now.

The correct wording: "At least it explains, why ..."

This is probably a widespread belief. At least it explains So, why many of ous speak to tourists in Hungarian? I mean, slowly and loudly, but still in Hungarian.
