And no spoilers but the kid they got to play Virdee as a kid is ASTONISHINGLY well cast.

Also Virdee on BBC is really good. It isn’t reinventing the wheel, but I really enjoyed it and Virdee is a really appealing character with a solid secondary cast.

I mean, you would know who did it but…contaminated crime scene, no body if they did the smart thing and bucked the vic in the sea, and maybe it was just an accident? Plus the owners of the liners being uncooperative. (It is the superyachts were the real spooky accidents seem to happen though!

I didn’t say it would be my reason, but if you were homicidal and had some spare cash for tickets it would be a good plan! I remain surprised no true crime stories have been spawned from those year long cruises people went on.

Yeah, I don’t like being directed or herded. And as big as the liners the thought of being stuck on one makes me feel…claustrophobic? Although I have always been fascinated by how many murders are committed on them. (Another reason to go, I guess, if a niche one!)

I have a friend who wants to go on one because they would like to go places but, for medical reasons, they hate flying. So a slow mooch across the ocean where they can stretch their legs at will looks appealing. They are also SUPER SOCIAL and wouldn’t hide in their cabin like I would.

I know people who go ALL THE TIME. It does kind of vary. Some people go with little groups they know and get to have little floating, catered reunions, others like to get piss drunk and be rolled back to their cabins and off to supervised fun the next day.

I think the only sports bit that hung around was this EXTREMELY rare footage from one of George Best's matches that, when we got our hands on it was just, like, all focused on George's backside. It was really funny.

Funny thing is I did used to work for a company that did a LOT of sports documentaries. Including a short about a hockey team! I just didn't retain most of that information.

And people are going to think 'it's some cash grab by this author' and then read it and go 'WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! THIS IS BODY HORROR!' and that's because I have really bad dental phobia and that's why I find this sort of thing fascinating.

This is inspired ENTIRELY by an article about a dentist who specialized in hockey players and an anecdote about a rugby player (different game, same approach to teeth) who asked his dentist if he could just drop his teeth in to be fixed while he went on holiday.
