Wild night where we rescued a blind, ill older cat from main road traffic. After rescuing another time from our block earlier this week. Our apartment has too many cats rn. But at least they're alive 😭

Here's my climate change reading list post. Starting with something important from my boss - "Clear and strong climate policies are an antidote to economic uncertainty" - on how to do climate change stuff in the middle of a trade war and why it's the way out unfccc.int/news/strong-...

That Villa decision is entirely in keeping with the PGMOL under Webb. They'd rather perform being decisive than wait and be right. They're also very, very bad at using the tools on offer to them. Having to use the tech is seen as weak. Changing your mind is weak. They're incapable of deliberation.

That's absolutely delightful. Williamson incredible at the back. Renée Slegers looked so calm with ten to go. I was not. Astonishing. Arsenal win the Champions League.

Wow wow wow

Climate action can be an "antidote to economic uncertainty." The boss went to the Panama Canal today and had a few big things to say about clean energy, trade, and why, with the right policy signals and much more investment, things can be good, actually www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Absolutely made up for Palace. Eze, Mateta, Muñoz, and Wharton class. Henderson had the best version of Henderson game. That 1990 team should have won too. City deserved nothing.

Strongly warning Glasner against dancing. We know how that goes. #CPFC

One thing that strikes me from this piece, not the China hype, but how Silicon Valley got high on its own supply. Capital and resource rich, all nostalgic politics and Lord of the Rings references. The people who want to invent the future are stuck in the past on.ft.com/44FrTFB via @FT

Andor is great. Just disappointing to be reminded it's in the Star Wars universe. It should go off and do its own thing.

This is a portrait of an unambiguously successful policy ... www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

I'm a dinosaur - I largely like offices. But the demand to return to office is more about control than culture - "performing" management, controlling time rather than using it more efficiently. Home working has given workers more independence than mostly older management men are comfortable with.

The first two minutes of the game was interrupted by an unspecified emergency broadcast. There was a brief moment where I thought we might be on the edge of nuclear war (not just news from the Conclave). So, hey, no nuclear war is good.

There’s so much happening right now, I thought I’d put together a running thread on the dismantling of #climate and research and knowledge infrastructure in the United States 🧵

Playing Mehdi Taremi wide left center forward back. True innovation from Inzaghi.

Would be a great time for Paramount to invest in an app that worked. You know, so people could watch the most amazing Champions League game of all time?

Blair's new climate report is “muddled and misleading" So says Prof Nicholas Stern, at LSE and author of the ‘The Economics of Climate Change: The Stern Review’ published by Tony Blair’s Government in October 2006 #climatecrisis

Stay in the game on Paris. Get an equalizer or keep it to a goal. This PSG team are great. But if we can keep it close I can still imagine them getting nervous.

Well, it's official. We just received notice that all authors on the Sixth National Climate Assessment have just been released from their roles. The NCA is a vital, Congressionally mandated resource for our nation as we prepare for the impacts of climate change. This is a huge loss.

Look, I'll mark Doue if I have to. But he is a lot quicker and more talented than me. What about having Jurrien Timber do it instead?

Wealth and power insulate you from criticism. More democratic discourse drove the Silicon Valley crew mad. Really funny part here was that they even found friendly centrist Harper's types too spicy and ran away. www.semafor.com/article/04/2...
