Steve Little's presentation on Generative AI for #RootsTech is a must-watch! www.familysearch.org/rootstech/se.... I enjoy using these tools SO MANY WAYS for genealogy and he gives a very helpful overview! @digitalarchivst.bsky.social #NotAtRootsTech

I have zero plantation ancestors, but I’m listening to the wonderful Renate Yarborough Sanders about their records. You can always learn something with unfamiliar #genealogy records! #RootsTech #NotAtRootsTech

There are more than 70 APG members speaking at RootsTech 2025! Don't miss their sessions and be sure to stop by APG’s exhibit hall booth when you are in Salt Lake City (or our virtual booth). See the full list of our member speakers: www.apgen.org/docs/APG_Members_at_RootsTech_2025_Full_List.pdf

He nails it.

We'll say it as many times as it takes: Gender-affirming care is life-saving care. We will not back down.

Oligarchy doesn’t even begin to describe what this is

Elon Musk’s staffers have gained unauthorized access to sensitive government employee data by installing a server at the OPM. They now have access to USAJOBS, the federal hiring portal where applicants submit personal details such as Social Security numbers, home addresses, and employment histories.

At OPM, Musk’s staffers won’t leave—they work around the clock and have even installed sofa beds in the office. Our access to data systems has been restricted, raising serious concerns about cybersecurity and a complete lack of oversight. We are keeping our heads down and documenting everything.

It’s official: Elon Musk’s staffers have now illegally obtained classified information from the USAID office. Here’s a recap of what’s happening:

NEW: We sent a letter to Texas public schools warning them not to implement a new curriculum that promotes Christianity over other religions. State-sponsored religion is a violation of the First Amendment.

He's not blaming DEI, he's blaming women and non white people.

Thou shalt not let RFK Jr. be in charge of health, or anything.

We strongly urge you not to resign and recommend seeking legal counsel!

#HealthForAll For everyone. Everywhere.

“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.” Diary of Anne Frank January 13, 1943

Costco’s shareholders voted overwhelmingly to reject a proposal from a conservative think tank aimed at getting the company to roll back its diversity hiring practices.

now listening to archivist Gratia Stother, talking about how to navigate Methodist church records. She describes Francis Asbury's role - interesting to learn as there's a connection to Asbury in the history of one of the churches where my ancestors worshipped. #genealogy photo credit: wikipedia

In this webinar about court records, Chuck Sherril describes the WPA-created transcripts of county court records. These are a great resource in the Tennessee State Library & Archives' collection. They are not always perfect, but can be a good place to start! #genealogy

Middle Tennessee Genealogical Society seminar starts with Chuck Sherrill talking about Tennessee land grants #genealogy
