Excited to get to work with Cris on this short piece on voluntary clean energy procurement. Thanks @jigarshahdc.bsky.social for publishing it on your LinkedIn channel!

As US Federal policy gets increasingly erratic & confounding, the private sector has to step up as the “adults in the room.” This extends to clean electricity procurement, narrowing the margin for error in reforming standards for voluntary purchases. More here: www.linkedin.com/posts/jigars...?

If they could get Noem there for a photo op, they can go rescue the innocent guy they shipped there.

THE WORST DEFENSE OF THE TRUMP TARIFFS: I wrote in the newsletter today about how annoying it is to hear people talk about how we need these tariffs to reindustrialize and counter China in high tech manufacturing. We were literally just doing that! Sub here www.bloomberg.com/account/news...

Sober expert analysis from Rob. Of course when existing coal plants are able to stay in the market for longer, we will have worse health outcomes AND ALSO this administration will claim a “win.”

I would like for all Texas sports/school supporters to come together and collectively ban Ted Cruz from coming to our sporting events. Yes, I know we all have our beef at times but this is something that transcends rivalries 😂😂 We’ve suffered long enough!

It strikes me that many Trump voters - say non college educated white folk - aren’t all that (directly) exposed to the stocks market, the way my friends and family are. It also strikes me that many young people are in the “burn it all down” camp, and this IS what many of them voted for.

Universities should join forces to fund and support class action suits by these students to halt these deportations and re-instate some kind of due process here. We know students have had visas revoked for nothing more than writing an op ed or being at a peaceful protest. Stand up for your students.

This is worth the read. Even if you accept the premise of Trump’s economically-illiterate tariffs, the math they cited to justify them has a 4x error. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/07/o...
