But you being dead ass wrong is the best part.

I see a lot of people saying what is essentially "just play the game wrong or with self imposed challenges and its fun" as if that isn't the core problem with the games.

Did they ever give any indication they were trying to fix "the things you didn't like"? Like, at all? Or did you just blindly buy it without doing any research? Because it sure does sound like this is less a problem with the game and more a problem with you not doing research.

Why would you buy the sequel for a game you didn't like?

"Have you ever worked in AAA before?" I'm working in AAA right now. Talking to you is nauseating so I'm just going to stop bothering. Looking forward to both of us being laid off in a year or two. Thanks buddy.

Then how in the world did the industry grow and survive when all there were were those small games? How do you explain the entire history of the games industry up until the point where we started chasing an impossible goal of every game being Fortnite or GTA?

I don't believe you in the slightest. Pat has been very vocal about how a lot of the side content was a complete slog. I never said I wanted no more AAA games, I said we need less of them. We need to not put ALL of our eggs in the AAA and AAAA basket.

That's like saying slavery is necessary because without it there wouldn't be enough jobs for slaves. That's a horrible argument to make. And it's not "because I don't like them", it's "because they are ripping through me and my friends and causing the eventual collapse of my industry".

Fine, I'll cede the point.

FF7R is very clearly a AAA or AAAA game, and AAA/AAAA games ARE the problem. I agree, unionization would help, but the industry CANNOT sustain itself if the majority of games are this huge. Look at Concord. Look at Marathon. It's a LOT easier to recover from a small game failing than it is from this

Can you give me a citation for that 300 number?

Then we as the industry need to push for the change we want to see. One of the best games of last year was made by a single person. Your response is basically "we tried nothing and nothing changed so lets give up and be consumed by the machine."

How many developers did it have? How many developers does FF7R have? Like Pat has constantly said, I'd take 10 teams making small PS2 era games over 1 giant game that takes 10 years to make. It isn't sustainable.

Nice rebuttal.

The industry is in the middle of a slow motion crash that directly harms developers like myself and my friends. I don't give a shit what the industry thinks.

I don't think the FF7 Remake has been worth it. I also don't think it needed to be remade at all. Stop remaking old things, make new things.

FF7 was a small game.

If it takes a team of 300 people to make a game that looks like og FF7 those people are bad developers. A game like that should take a team of under 50.
I would rather have small games than huge bloated games.

I can't buy it directly but I will use a proxy service to buy a copy. Your manga is loved overseas as well and we are hopeful for your success.

It's like a train, and all its cars are filled with steel
That I would stop if I knew how
It is bearing down on me
So I will stand here with my shoulders square and tall
And when the whistle blows, not falter
But when the crash comes I will fall
With so much steam and steel behind it
