Arthur was born in 1884 in Leeds. The Society was set up to popularise his many books (not just for children) and encourage research into his life and work. https://arthur-ransome.org/

No you won't. When you are on a public forum - it is public. There may be something in Settings to keep 'randoms' like us out of your conversations. There is on other Social Media. Apologies.

Oh I don't either, I saw this in the Arthur Ransome group on Facebook. he wrote a series of children's novels back in the 1930s that focused on sailing in the Lake District in England.

He can be followed in later books 'Coot Club', 'Pigeon Post' etc. His over protective sister Dot reduces his need to look after himself.

Yes but will they attract terrorists etc so that a new police force is needed to protect them?

I'm reading the Arthur Ransome book Winter Holiday right now. It was written and is set in the early 1930s. One of the characters is clearly on the spectrum.

Indeed! That said, I briefly shared this flat with my friend Andrew whose mother and family were the children upon whom Arthur Ransome based Swallows and Amazons. Although there were more girls in the family so Andrew’s mother was the model for John. But he really did have an aunt named Titty.
