Fun fact... Indy (Dogtor Bones) makes a cameo in S2.

Listen. Personally, I LOVE the bow. I know everyone loves the pistols, but I will love the bow & pickaxe into eternity. Game mechanics wise, they were just way more fun and more uniquely badass. But hard to buy a bow being better than pistols in 9/10 situations. But keep an eye out for the 1/10!

I've always been curious about the Azores. I wanted an island that not a lot of people (at least where I'm from) know much about that would be a shock to see snowy weather and could also believably have an abandoned marine facility. (The President is totally fictional! No names deliberately haha)

Yes, that's my pup. That's Dogtor Indiana Bones!

I replayed Legend to get my brain back into '90s Lara.

Ep 1 opening sequence was super fun - I've wanted to write that crevasse jump with the knife for AGES. Ep 4 in the Paris catacombs was my absolute favorite though. I love it when Lara is facing hard emotions, even if she has to be drugged to do it.

Can neither confirm nor deny.

Luckily, the pilot rewrites didn't impact the other episodes much at all. It was more about how are we investing in Lara emotionally from the start? How well are fans following vs. new people who know nothing about Lara?

Can't speak specifically to S2 story. That kinda stuff, you'll have to just watch to find out! I can't spoil surprises :)

Dynamic for S2? I guess you'll have to see :) I'll say this: I see each season as a step Lara takes to becoming fully unified. She still has some things to learn.

There was no additional scene planned for Zip. The fans can put together where he might've gotten those guns, but it didn't feel necessary to show that process, both for time, and because it would be lost on new fans.

Lara is a globetrotter. The fun of the games is going to different locales around the world, so I don't see that aspect of the show disappearing. Are you asking for more drama, less action?

Yes! In success - tell all your friends, family and enemies to watch so we get more seasons! - there will be lots of story to explore.

Can't speak to specifics in S2, though I will say generally it's always tough to reference specific things from the games because unless you're a gamer who's specifically played THAT game, then it will take a lot of either exposition or flashbacks, both of which slow down the story right now.

The schedule - I wish we had time to make each episode even more perfect. Also, longer episodes. Lots of story and fun stuff got cut for time.

On my initial pitch of the overall show, Netflix and CD had to approve. Once we got into the nitty gritty of the show, Netflix and CD were great at letting us cook. CD would make sure nothing was off-canon or blatantly incorrect, like outfit details, but for the most part, all the creative freedom!

For example, the story of Daji is, historically, a story about an evil woman who corrupted the Emperor. But history is often exaggerated and victors paint people they don't like as extreme villains (as Daji was). The show asks, What if that was all a smear campaign?

I did a few months of reading and research, including books I got from my family trips to Hong Kong throughout my youth. I made a lot of new connections for the sake of the show, but the core mythology and stories are from real legends/history.

I joke that Lara is a serial killer. She shoots first, asks questions later in most games. I'd love to make a violent R / hard PG13 Lara, but in an effort to bring in new young & old fans, S1 didn't start her in a place of murder. That being said, S2 will show a much more lethal Lara :)

Yes! She will learn to love dresses and maybe even tolerate heels. Her iconic black dress to infiltrate a party is somewhere in her future. But I'm more curious how 2013 Lara learns to become that woman. B/c they are not the same person. I'm interested in the how.
