UNSW’s '“3+” timetable, featuring three 10-week terms and a shorter summer session, will be replaced by a “flex-semester” calendar of two substantive 12-week semesters and optional six-week summer and winter terms.' By listening to staff & students, they'd have avoided avoided this costly mistake.

The crisis at Dundee requires asking some hard questions and knowing what to do with the answer. Yesterday, I sat with the some senior staff at @dundeeuni.bsky.social and asked them questions about the so-called recovery process, on behalf of staff and students.

Dundee University's external auditors and accounts teams did not flag any concerns at all. Yet the university is basically not a going concern. Just shows how much you can trust the financial architecture and reporting of the Higher Ed sector. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Wow, France is offering more services (safety checks, etc). to make up for fewer letters. "La Poste delivers home meals to isolated or vulnerable people priced between €22 and €100 per month. 15,000 of t150,000 daily meal deliveries are made by La Poste— they're largest operator in this sector."
