G is The Goblet Wire! Surreal microfiction. The Goblet Wire is a secretive role playing game, played by phone. Players call a switchboard, and after the Operator has confirmed their identity, they’re then connected to the Dictator, who creates the dream-like realities in which the game is played.

Dear authors and publishing houses: if your audiobook has multiple narrators PLEASE credit all of them and note which roles/chapters they narrate! Not just one!! Or not just a list of names without whom they read!!

Forever begging my friends to get into Real Housewives so we can dissect how it’s possible to be 45 minutes late to a party downstairs in your own house and then you steal your frenemy’s purse in plain sight and how all of this ties into geopolitical crises happening right now 😭

Dang I was resisting the Final Fantasy crossover but I might have to get back into Magic: The Gathering for this card

It has been rough being a Jane the Virgin fan—between the revelations of Gina Rodriguez’ racism, Justin Baldoni with…all that, and now Jaime Camil praising Cybertrucks…it hurts. This feels like being a Glee fan all over again where everyone in the cast turns out dead or a monster. Except Mercedes!

It's World Radio Day! The BBC is making the tragic and bewildering decision to massively slash its audio drama budgets. Please protest that decision by making a short video with #SADattheBBC and tag @writersguildgb.bsky.social

Also immediately clocked Shadowheart’s voice front and center in the Tides of Annihilation trailer. Jennifer English, your star still rises!

Lies of P Overture trailer!! We are so back!! (But where’s Dorothy???)

Heavenly Tyrant marks a major evolution in Xiran Jay Zhao’s writing style. While Iron Widow was a strong debut, Heavenly Tyrant tackles a much more ambitious scope—ranging from communist revolution and reproductive autonomy to to space-age warfare in East Asian mythology-inspired mechas. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !

One day you’ll be at the last wedding you ever hear Mr Brightside at and you won’t even know it’s the last one

Going from all three The Locked Tomb books to Blood Over Bright Haven means a solid 70ish hours of listening to Moira Quirk’s voice without even really seeking it out 😆

Every debate about cost of living in Boston plays out the exact same way. “Just move out! I make $350k and I moved to Lawrence just to save!” OK what’s the median income there? If it’s lower than $350k then your amazing saving plan is just to live where you can be richer than everyone around you.

I see TTRPG Bluesky has finally become like TTRPG Twitter where the majority of conversations center around completely inane questions for engagement that could all be answered by “if you want.” Should you have evil campaigns? Should Strahd be feminist? Should your world be made of pudding?

This is why she’ll always be top tier of the Real Housewives. Period. Dot. Chanel Ayan Didn’t Know Survivor Was a Show, Thought Castmates Battled Illnesses and Drought people.com/chanel-ayan-...

A film where creativity is limitless about what you can do with your ponytail but has very limited imagination about what kinds of people get to exist in the future. variety.com/2025/film/ne...

Friends, I hope you’ll consider supporting Jeff’s deeply personal and uncompromisingly creative project here!

Oh my goodness I’m so excited for this!

Saw this and deleted my account a day early lol

No hate to the folks moving to RedNote but it kinda feels like digital colonialism…like it’s not to be a part of THAT community but to replace the dopamine rush we got from another. Not saying I’d never go myself but we should interrogate our motives.

it’s easy to believe indie creators aren’t being loud enough when you practically run a wotc beat at polygon. this isn’t a rallying cry for indie creators — this is a patronizing insult to their decades long hard & very loud work which you regularly pass over in favor of writing more wotc articles.

Learning and growing

Traitors Season 3 has a metagame problem. Now that people have watched two seasons and figured out that the Real Housewives are the most cunning and dangerous contestants, savvy players are always going to eliminate them first. Leaving them with a BORING cast for the rest of the season!!

Truly, the culture is stagnating without another Alan Ball show on the air. We need a new one.

Just finished Yellowjackets season 2…idk guys. So many inexplicable choices. They keep soft-launching new girls in the cabin who were *never* there all season before. And the fact that in the present no one knows anything means they learned *nothing* in the past. The flashbacks feel pointless! 6/10.

When your time playing League was so miserable that literally nobody could even PAY you to watch Arcane

Tbh I’m a little disheartened because I just don’t see a path forward for the Dragon Age series. I think EA has firmly decided to make safe, moderately enjoyable action games, and it will homogenize DA with Mass Effect with the only difference being their settings, superficially.

I remember in a class we watched Spike Lee’s legendary Do The Right Thing (1989). At the end, a number of students were confused and asked, “why does Mookie throw the trash can?” Thinking about that a lot as I watch media and political commentators be bewildered over last week’s events.

Thinking about how a Wizard of Oz themed soulslike was HEAVILY implied to be coming in the ending of Lies of P and then there’s just radio silence when they could totally be riding this media wave for the source material rn 😭

Oooohhhh my gosh you guys, every minute of Windfall’s return has been worth the wait. Absolutely in love with the dialogue, the return of so many familiar characters, and the epic sound design for this absolute juggernaut of a production. Please give it a listen!

Upon reflection I owe a great deal of my cultural knowledge and personality to Cracked articles from the late 2000s.

Remembering back when I first read Wicked (the book) the musical wasn’t out yet and there was no one to talk out loud about it with and so I thought it was pronounced “Elph-AH-bah” 😭

"Spotify Wrapped is so bare-bones this year, it feels like they didn't even try." Spotify fired over 2,000 employees in 2023, including 1,200 in December. They've fired quite a few people in 2024. You could tell Wrapped would be bare-bones back in February of this year.

Contrary to these rankings let me assure you that no one is happier brat summer is over than I am.
