I used to share the carrd around a lot!! It's an amazing wealth of information that's gotten a handful of my friends into shuuenpro. Thanks for making it.

I'm so glad it interests you! It's a series that meant a lot to me when I was younger. It was very influential to me in regard to the kinds of anime/books/movies I enjoy the most.

Seeing this was like a blast to the past, haha. I used to be super big into the gritty, darker vocaloid stuff (and a lot of my favorites are still those). Have you checked out the Bookmark of Demise Project? It's more than just vocaloid, but the music is the centerpiece. shuuenpro.github.io

Now I get to meet up with friends up North and have a good summer vacation in a city I've only been to once before (and didn't stay long in). It's nice to travel to new places when possible.

All great picks here — I listened to the Big Blood album last week at work myself and really found myself liking it myself

Tower of Rome's demo from 2003 is so good

The human touch is what made it special, I say option A is the best choice

Try some Korean barley tea if you haven't already — acquired taste but very good

Always open to more recs :> I've heard an overwhelming chunk of the 90s emo stuff, but anything after is a coin flip. Some of my favorites outside Indian Summer are Breakwater, Van Pelt, The Lazarus Plot, Barrel, and Blake, if it helps you to narrow down recommendations.

Silver Case has been one that's intrigued me for a long time, but only just got around to purchasing. It's by the same guy who made killer7, which is one of my favorite games, so figure it was about time to give it a try. Mahoyo and Planetarian are great, as expected of both TM and Key.

They've all been in my constant rotation for days straight! I'm actually in love with all 4 songs, they sound so ahead of time

One of my favorite vocal synth songs from this year, so catchy

Lamprey Hole and A Sardine Grows from the Soil alone have got me checking out more works from Defoko and Teto, respectively. I love my silly little computer vocals...

I also overestimated how tapped in normal people were, so when I brought up Satoshi Kon and Perfect Blue, the conversation went a little something like the image below. Needless to say, this is a problem, and I will probably get called "unc" the next time I go in

Most of my favorite anime / visual novels are exactly this kind of thing. I love having to put together a timeline if the show is out of order, and I love being just as clueless as the protagonist(s)

A problem I just seemed to stumble on is that it's actually very hard to write negative reviews. I need to be critical, and for a movie as big as this one is, everything critical has already been said. I feel like I'm just retreading over older reviews, haha

Thanks for joining me :> Always more fun to watch a movie with someone else, even if we both came out of it with different thoughts and feelings.

Heavily debating writing a review on AniList, but I only really know how to review music. And from past experiences, saying anything negative about this movie gets you responses like you just ran over someone's pet.

Have you heard the self-titled Pennikurvers EP? They got reissued by Numero recently, and it's a great blend of noisy twee-emo. Think if you're going into a more noisier direction, it's something that might bridge the gap well

That Boys Life album is so good! I wanted to pick up the vinyl box set Numero released last month, but it's so expensive...

No, it's completely okay! I appreciate the detailed insight greatly, as I've only been an end user and not on the business side of things, my above sentiment is something that I feel often. I never understood why it wasn't a more standardized thing, but now I do know. Thank you kindly :)

Looking into the cost of translation APIs made me much more receptive to the idea of purchasing a subscription, I just wish I could mix-and-match it, as I'm not likely to use the other features at all.
comment in response to post
Inline translations being stuck behind a subscription sucks quite a bit. Wonder what "profile customization" means in regards to what we already have

It might be time for me to read some of the bigger ones I've been putting off. Higurashi and Umineko I've put off for 8 years now, and FMD Muramasa, while being one I put on my backlog only 2 years ago, is one that interests me a lot too. Pretty conflicted on which to read while waiting for Ever17.

Unsure of what you've seen, so I'll just drop some of my favorites. Penguindrum (2011), Paranoia Agent (2004), Texhnolyze (2003), Maison Ikkoku (1986), Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei (2007), Ping Pong the Animation (2014), The Tatami Galaxy (2010), and The aquatope on white sand (2021)

It's hard for me to fit in things to say in batches of 300 characters, but if you like that old school art-style and want an anime to watch (it's under 2 hours), check it out! I find it strange how it's not more well known, maybe because it was made when they were a for-hire studio?
