Whenever I hear people "moderates" talk about being in-between 2 "extremes", it really bothers me. Because I don't see it that way. I feel like everybody is falling victim to misinformation on a massive scale. The American left is not "extreme" at all.

So a wannabe DOGEr at Brown Univ from the conservative student paper took the univ org chart and ran it through an AI aglo to determine which jobs were "BS" in his estimation and then emailed those employees/admins asking them what tasks they do and to justify their jobs. bloat.brownspectator.com

Anecdotal, but I'm definitely noticing an uptick in advocacy for violence here. About which I'll say only this: Promoting violence on social media is the work of trolls and fools, those eager to bait others into implicating themselves in the age of surveillance or fools rushing to the gulag.

I have been (and am) "hard NO" on Blank Check for Musk. What's strongest case *for* Senate Ds letting it through? Obviously not Schumer op-ed Try this by Martin Longman/Progress Pond. (It's a pick-your-poison argument.) I'm still "No!" but it's worth reading. www.progresspond.com/2025/03/14/f...

How can judges fight bad executive orders if the courts are shut down because the government is shut down?

Bay Area. Ahem. 3/22. www.cityarts.net/event/senato...

I have to say: Chuck Schumer is a weak man and a fool. This was the one cudgel Dems had. Now it's up to the courts which we new from the beginning were at best going to slow some things down. There's 18 hours left to somehow bring additional pressure to bear. It will be really hard to do that.

New Yorkers: Call Sen. Gillibrand’s office to vote NO on cloture and NO on the Republican Spending Bill. They vote in the morning. ☎️: (202) 224-4451

"It's the Giants, 3.... ...the A's should still be in Oakland, 1."

At some point all of us, globally, who can't stand the direction of travel in this bullshit universe will have to truly ask ourselves precisely this question: how do we make this stop for good.

Good time to bump up this memo from November. I’ll revise it a bit tomorrow, but it’s pretty spot-on as is. “Managing Financial Instability in 2025” docs.google.com/document/u/0...

RED ALERT: Now Is the Moment, Folks talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/red-a...

So the President not only fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He also fired the top JAGs at the Army, Navy and Air Force. Those are the lead people who determine what is a legal order and what is not. So if you're planning to do things that are illegal they're the most obvious obstacle.

I was just an Education Department guy under Reagan and the most junior WH senior staffer under G.H.W. Bush, so what do I know? But if I were an ex-president, and the current president were executing the most disastrous turn in American foreign policy in 80 years, I think I might say something?

I keep thinking about this art exhibit I saw several years back in which the artist took a grand piano and applied a sledgehammer to it, repeatedly. How horrifying it was, to see such violence being wrought onto something so elegantly assembled.

This actually explained a lot of what’s happening to me. Scary stuff.

A group of anonymous authors has published this well-sourced memorandum on Musk and the Neoreactionary movement. Please share widely. The threat is not well understood. Take a moment to read the one page executive summary now; then call Congress. america2.news/content/file...

But shall this crazed old man be tamely suffered to drag a whole ship’s company down to doom with him?

🚨BREAKING: Musk is trying to shut down USAID as the agency was investigating its oversight of a public-private partnership involving equipment from Musk's company. Various USAID webpages mentioning Musk's company are now not accessible on its website.

I've spent a lifetime on political messaging. I've written more political scripts than I can count. My advice to Dems (that I honestly could rarely get people to do) is to name-call. We need name-calling. It's not enough to say what's happening is bad. Who's responsible and what do you think of them

one of the defining features of the techbro dipshits now running the USA is their absolute refusal to consider that anyone, ever, has thought about problems before them time after time they come in, propose a solution that was rejected years ago because it's stupid, and call themselves geniuses

this is insane. the Army Corps of Engineers is releasing flood level waters from reservoirs and… reflooding the Tulare Lakebed to appease Trump? “Hernandez had already notified managers on the old Tulare Lake Bed to expect possible flood water” sjvwater.org/decision-to-...
