NEW: NSF will be kicked out of their building. Announcement will be made tomorrow by HUD Sec. and Governor of VA. HUD will take over the NSF building over the next two years. NSF staffer: "There is no planning for NSF, no identified future location, appropriation for a new building or a move."

Can’t wait for the centrists to arrive at the obvious question: what will it take to stop billionaires or even trillionaires? The civil / criminal punishments we rely on to deter corruption are 19C solutions for 21C problems. If they’re going to deter, they’ll need to be ‘adjusted for inflation.’

This exciting resolution from Rutgers University Senate is exactly the kind of model I think higher ed needs: a mutual defense pact of, in this case, Big 10 schools. They call for member institutions to create a joint defense fund and make resources available to any member institution under attack.
