In the midst of this existential crisis for our Constitution, I find a moment to reflect on another true American institution: baseball. And while I do put the game into perspective, I also recognize the need we have for a brief respite from the trauma we live with daily. Season starts in 30 days.

I don't know why it took me so long to realize that most boomers, and many millennials, have a good understanding of WWII and Nazi Germany and what a threat that aggression was to the entire world. But starting with Gen X and since, that part of history is about as real as a video game.
