School librarians improve literacy outcomes. It is time that we stop thinking of school libraries as a luxury or an outdated, quiet room. All schools need a school library staffed by a certified school librarian. #TLSky #skybrarian www.americanprogress.org/article/inve...

Proposed censorship measures in several states could deny your right to read some books in our Nation's libraries and lead to librarians facing criminal charges for the books on the shelves. bit.ly/417vR6m Follow and support @everylibrary.bsky.social to help fight for libraries.

With the release of Governor Hocul’s Media Literacy Tool Kit, school librarians have been left out of the conversation. As Devon Cozad wrote in the Buffalo News “They are certified, trained professionals who are perfectly poised to teach these skills, yet appear nowhere in this kit.”

Not only is it Valentine’s Day, but it is Library Lover’s Day! Today is a day to share your love of libraries, librarians, and all things libraries. Why do you love libraries? #libraryloversday #librarylove #skybrarian #tlsky

School librarians are expert researchers, skilled in teaching students how to assess sources and identify credible information. They provide access to high-quality resources and tools, helping students fact-check and analyze news more effectively. #NewsLiteracy #newsliteracyweek #SchoolLibrarians

Media literacy is NOT a restriction on free speech or indoctrination. It’s using concrete strategies to emphasize the importance of discerning reliable sources, fact-checking information, and navigating the abundance of disinformation. -Stacy Hawthorne # nyscate24
