/2 Do not respond to the voicemail message, the email, the text, the card left on your door. Talk to a lawyer, or just don’t respond at all. If they reach you by phone, or confront you in person, you may say “I don’t want to talk to you. I want to talk to a lawyer.”

/3 Let me repeat that: “I don’t want to talk to you. I want to talk to a lawyer.” In all other respects, shut the fuck up. Don’t engage them. Don’t let them engage you. They are not trying to help you. They are not trying to “clear this up.” Shut. Your. Fucking. Mouth.

/4 “But if I refuse to talk will they arrest me or charge me?” That’s what they want you to think to coerce you into talking even against your interests. But it’s a stupid way to think about it. It’s the equivalent of “but if I wear a seat belt, what if I drive into a lake and am trapped?”

/5 It is EXTREMELY unlikely that your invocation of your rights will be the tipping point in arresting or charging you. It is even more EXTREMELY unlikely that if they are prepared to arrest or charge that you talking will be the thing that stops them. THEY WANT YOU TO INCRIMINATE YOURSELF.

/6 They will bully you and try to coerce you and make you FEEL like maybe they will arrest you unless you talk. That’s because they are bad faith actors. DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT TALK TO THEM.

/7 Moreover, to repeat, it is essential you actually say “I do not want to talk to you, I want to talk to a lawyer,” or words as close to that as possible. Thanks to “conservatives” on the Supreme Court they are allowed to coerce you into talking unless you use something close to those magic words.

2/2 “Russia and China are focusing their efforts on recently fired employees with security clearances and probationary employees at risk of being terminated, who may have valuable information about US critical infrastructure and vital government bureaucracy…”

I do think folks really haven't thought all that hard about what happens if you suck $1tn of payments out of the economy, have a trade war with all your allies at the same time, and force Europe to massively redirect consumer spending to defense spending all at the same time
