Australian states have started experimenting with offering grants + 0%-interest loans to homeowners with solar to install batteries. Grid batteries are popping up more too, but they're not offering any direct specific financial benefit to solar panel owners without batteries, just grid stabilisation

Yeah I remember when my kid was at that developmental stage. I sometimes think of the first couple months as the "potted plant" stage. It was amazing when I saw her do something as simple as track the motion of a rattle with her eyes the first time. A sign that big things were on the way.

Back about 7 or 8 years ago, I thought Elon was kinda cool and I was contemplating getting a Tesla once my current car died (fun fact: my car at the time is still alive today). After the Thai cave thing I a started looking at him more critically, and these days I have nought but contempt for him.
