Any Democrat that voted for Rubio's confirmation thinking that he would be a check on Trump, hasn't been paying enough attention to the political landscape at this point for me to trust them on anything.

I hoped and prayed and worked for years to get him out of the Senate. It was my top political priority at one point.
THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT, UNIVERSE!

...or undo our child labor laws to make up staffing shortages created by the deportation insanity. ::facepalm::

This is my thought as well. I don't know how we're doing on Spring Break numbers because you couldn't pay me to go near the beaches right now, but if we take a double hit from summer vacations and the snowbirds stay home?
That's likely to get folk talking about a state income tax again.

I don't think he will. He's got a sweet setup here - we're his own private fiefdom in a way Trump only dreams about, and he's term limited out in 2026. He's never kissed up to Trump the way other governors do because he's never really had to.
He'll just gut more state services and call it a day.

Makes sense. I mean, we all know nothing is ever 100% secure, but this is like advertising a limited edition collectible giveaway at Comicon.

Cinema Therapy(YouTube) did one of their "A therapist reacts to..." vids on this very show. Haven't watched it yet, but I plan to.

(2/2) Just took a tour around the database to see where they were at and what kind of resources they had, and found the as-built drawings.
From my father's company.
With his title block.

Other Dems are holding town halls in blue areas - Swalwell, for example, was here this morning. My understanding is that this specific tour by AOC and Bernie is as much to help organize the base as to turn voters back to the party.

I work in construction - general opinion on cybertrucks is that they’re trucks for people who want to look like they work for a living.

Honestly, it’s at least in part what DOGE is doing to shut down agencies they can’t legally wipe out of existence - cancel leases, cancel utility services, cancel software licenses - make it so places like the DOE still technically exist, but are functionally dead.

Prosecute to the absolute limits of the law. Even if 47 pardons them, it wears at the sense of blind and unconditional devotion these guys have.
It’s the same procedural weapon the Jan 6 Committee used to turn all those witnesses.

Chiming in here as the closest outside observer to your process, the relief in you taking control of who you were wasn't just internal. Watching the difference between you before and you after has been incredibly profound and I am grateful I get to witness it.

It’s a sci-fi miniseries from the 80’s, but if you can look past spaceships and lizards, it tells the story of a culture that invades through deception and double speak. The first people they target as the biggest threat to their plan are the scientists.

And based on that THR article, Maher already embraces two out of the three you've listed here.
Okay, so maybe he is a commentator on current events - just more in the Rush Limbaugh / Jesse Watters vein than John Oliver.

We're both believers in "when you know better, do better". Maher is a card carrying member of "I don't want to know better".

And if you have made a fortune selling yourself as a commentator on current events, being aware of changes in terminology should be basic. The fact that Maher is complaining about using a less derogatory term than "hooker" or "prostitute" says to me he's comfortable belittling that demographic.

Absolutely in agreement here.
