What I miss the most, though, are the porn games and the street performances, as well as just a general air of a somewhat unified fandom (albeit it was separate from the fandom of Ikebukuro and Nakano), if it's what I see in the video, it feels like I'm just going to a tourist trap.

I don't think people really appreciate or understand what the pedantic struggle of maintaining neighborhood character is like when you have someone going "but I have money to throw at it" as an existential threat.

Looking at it as someone who works in cultural community preservation, Akiba really just fucked it up with preventing any kind of community organizing didn't it?
Because this is exactly the nightmare scenario Japantown was fearing for the last 15 years in some ways.

But I'm saying, given what's happening, a lot of people who usually love cops also might have some misgivings about the type of law enforcement facility being proposed at these locales, and they could be convinced to make it a living hell of permitting quagmires and hearings if they want to.

That concern's been there since January at this point. Only reason anyone planning to come cancelling at this point is if there's active protests going on for three weeks, and we'll have a far larger concern over the state of the country's stability if this is still ongoing at the end of the month.

Was recently entreated to a piece citing a "horse game expert," and I've since realized I'm not equipped to talk about horse games.
