Like how do I even begin to talk about this, because it was a pretty open and shut case for me this morning and I moved on, but fuck.

No, I mean, I'm worried I'm just being a bitter and joyless bitch who has nothing nice to say ever. This is not the beauty of diversifying the audience.
No one likes a huge bitch.

Brought to you by, seeing friends who are casually fans of a certain vtuber that was stanned on a rifle stock and me going.... "should I just make my displeasure known?"

Like, I get WHY she's doing this, but the why is terminal democratic politician brain-rot that stews from being elected in districts where you realize it's all just politics that convinces you people will never cross "that line," except "that line" is waaaaay different for people from other regions.

I mean even Jefferies is 54 and been a congressman for 12 years. I'm concerned we'll even make another 3 years with all this fucking bullshit.

What is she, 34? Pelosi is 85. We're not waiting 50 years for her to become senior enough that she can direct policies. We'll be fucking dead by then.

The problem is, hundreds of thousands of trans people don't need to survive in Congress, they need to survive every day life, and her belief that her turn will one day come so long as she makes nice with the milquetoast party line of "not appearing too woke to become a target" is not gonna happen.

Like, we KNOW it's risky: Freshman congresswoman heading into a session where her cohort largely doesn't understand trans issue and is under the gun of fascism?
If she wants to be in the good graces of Schumer when her time comes, she needs to toe that line. This will let her *survive in Congress.*

The "trust her, she's working on it" line when she just didn't bother challenging the bathroom shit on day one was enough for me to kinda realize she'd sooner throw herself under a bus than be branded "too risky" by her cohorts in Congress.

I get it's both citrus, but orange soda is extremely not sprite, and it's even more infuriating it's not even Sprite but Sierra Mist.

"Chiaki, but the concentration camps in Europe were wor-"
Common misconception on the gravity of the situation. America had concentration camps, as did Europe, which also operated *death camps*, which I'm sure you can all agree are even worse.

"Of course people know that concentration camps were bad"
The toilets had no walls, a family of 10 would be crammed into single room shack built of green lumber with no insulation against the cold or the heat, the government purposefully stoked a schism so there would be infighting, inmates had to-

And I mean, the nuclear option is if the State wins. It would be open season for anyone who can argue that they felt threatened by a guy with a gun in an open carry area. This would include being threatened by the protestors who are typically more well armed than pacifist leftists.

BTW, if SLC County actually somehow argues that being in possession of a gun is the justifiable cause for manslaughter committed by a third party, just know this technically opens up a hilarious amount of legal precedent especially if it's appealed, and it likely will.

I'll laugh if this results in Utah walking back open carry laws a la California's Mulford Act, which was "even the NRA agreed gun control is good actually" because they realized letting everyone have guns includes people they don't like (in 1967, it was the Black Panthers)

Their armed security appears to have opened fire on a protest attendee unprovoked (save for the fact that the attendee was armed) and killed a second, random bystander
The org is now standing by those "peacekeepers" actions and defaming the man they shot at

Utah antiracist activists say that Gamboa (the young Venezuelan-American activist who was one of the two shooting victims) has been a fixture at local rallies, has open-carried his AR-15 before, and has never been violent.
The police are charging him with homicide despite him never firing a shot.
