It’s def on the hotter side, but India has a lot of Kashmiri dishes and cream based dishes that are more mild

In the states they compensate by adding a bunch of spices that Indian people don’t even drink lmao

I actually used to work at a retirement home and one of my jobs was helping people with troubleshooting household tech and most of the time I'd give up and just go to their apartment and fix it myself.

We didn't always have the best relationship, so I'm honestly just grateful we can be there for each other now.

Its all jokes tbh, I didn't mind helping her out.

Thanks! Been checking in and she's okay.

It's a different type of frustration I feel. You're speaking the same language but you're also not. I empathize with technology changing and not "getting it" but I also have a hard time if I can't just do it myself and have to walk someone else through it.

Okay and? Some people do things because it's the right thing to do, not because of some other gratification they get from it. What do you want a medal?

You're an angel. I would have taken up chainsmoking that shift.

At some point you might find yourself questioning why they have all of their cherished pictures and videos on a cd or a usb drive or an 8 year old phone but...... push aside your judgement and help them take advantage of your computer literacy.

In all seriousness: if you can help your loved ones and technologically challenged friends do this, it's a great peace of mind with everything LA is going through right now. Do so if you can. A headache is a small price to pay.

HOW WOULD YOU RIGHT CLICK ON THE PHONE????????? phew. I'm good. I'm good.
comment in response to post
At one point I asked her to right click on something and she asked "on the computer or on the phone" and I had to walk away and take a few deep breaths.

You cooked with this one. It def can grate on me a little, especially when the world building decides that all religions are an allegory for the catholic church. What about Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism? Lmao. When I've brought it up to writers their retort is "well all organized religion is evil" ???

Weird misconceptions about how much money we make too! I regularly work with people who make a lot more $$$ than me; burning bridges is an option for the top 2% Common sense would dictate that someone in 9 high budget actual plays a year doesn't make the same as someone in 1 every 2 years.

For my own mental health, I can only choose so many things in a given hellscape year to devote my attention to. Its not that I don't give a shit it's that I'm tired like everyone else and doing my best.

The expectations placed on creators of color is staggering. We're expected to somehow survive and make a living off a space and also are meatshields for every company we work with or for.

I can't play Indiana Jones, I'm supposed to talk about the issues with Temple of Doom (a movie I've never seen) for 6 hours instead.

I've discussed this with @cypheroftyr.bsky.social a lot because it almost always feels like any post is met with the worst faith interpretation. Something as simple as playing a game played by so many others is seen as a moral failing because you didn't write a dissertation on its many problems.
